  1. If Mizzou had beaten aTm there is no way Gameday would have passed you guys up.
  2. Sorry, but I already chose that one... In fact, we used pretty much the same language. It is because we're really the same person. You just don't know it yet.
  3. Well, we could have problems here.
  4. Honestly, I think Carolina is the best team of the bunch, but they have a way of underperforming (see 2005). I'm more worried about them playing to their abilities than about either the Falcons or Saints. Well, right now the Saints have a two game lead on them and the Falcons one. The Saints are better than anyone has given them credit for. They have a dangerous offense, a QB that doesn't make a lot of mistakes, and a coach that helps them stay disciplined and mistake free. The defense is the question mark, but if they can stay close, their offense gives them a chance to win. I wouldn't sell them short by any means. The Saints are good, no doubt about it. But if Carolina hadn't blown the Minnesota game and today's game with stupid turnovers, they'd be 6-1 and leading the division. Nothing's more maddening than trying to maintain title hopes for a team that has a tendency to make dumb mistakes like that.
  5. Peter must be pretty sure to just mention this so non-chalantly. Baseball will be gone in 10 years if this happens

  7. I shall take the Pitching, Pitching, Pitching package.
  8. Just call me the "Shwamm" EDIT: This inevitably means my picks will be a mess next week. You're not the only one. Not a bad week for me against the spread. Stated that I wanted to pick a push of the (-3) line to Cincy over Carolina, and it was a push. Picked the Jets, Pats, Bucs, Raiders, Colts, Vikes, and Packers. If I count right, that makes me 7-4-1 for the week, by far my best. I'm 7-4-1 this week and it's not even my best week of the last 2. BTW, I'm almost rooting for a Colts/Bears Super Bowl because it might just result in Ball State being burned to the ground (about 60 percent here are Colts fans, about 25 percent Bears fans and the remaining 15 percent other). Giving up on the Panthers already? Not yet, but if they can't win games even when Dan Henning actually opens up the passing game for once, there's going to be a problem. Carolina really needs to win their next two at least against Dallas and Tampa at home.
  9. Is it anymore farfetched than ND last year. If ND would have gone undefeated the circumstances wouldnt be that much different than Rutgers this year. Except that as soon as ND won a game they were in the top 25 and once they won 2 they were in the top ten. I am sure that if ND would have gone undefeated the idea of putting Georgia or PSU in the championship game would have been an outrage. All this being said I dont think Rutgers is going to go undefeated. An undefeated ND would have beaten USC and plastered just about everyone else they played, while Rutgers had to rally to beat USF. Not quite the same thing. But I shan't go any further because we'll still be talking about this next week if I do.

  11. ND falls to #9, with Texas jumping them, not altogether surprising considering they played a ranked team, although UCLA wasn't exactly a creampuff.
  12. Hahahaha, Rutgers in the title game would probably be one of the top-5 most hilarious things ever
  13. I'd like to say that I considered putting the A&M/Baylor game into the "good" category due to the Bears' less embarrassing play so far this year, but they still wear Baylor on their jerseys.
  14. :D The Raiders were up 14-0 and 21-3 over Cleveland in Week 4 and we know how that game turn out so I wouldn't get too excited yet. Plz win Oakland. And win again.
  15. Good move I suppose. He's gotta be more useful than Dick Pole.
  16. Navy's Navy. The Middies will hang in early (due mostly to the fact that their running attack lessens the amount of possessions), but ND will win by about 20. For those who may be wondering, this is why ND-Navy continues to be played annually, per Wikipedia: Ball State and Miami are two of the worst teams in the MAC, but the Cards are a little less worse. I expect Ball State to improve to 3-3 in the conference.
  17. I'd never heard the stat that Delhomme had 0 picks inside the opponents 10 yard line before today. When they quoted it in the 2nd quarter, I knew it was coming. Damn you Kenny Albert. Now Dallas is a must-win.
  18. Damn it, Chris Gamble, that ball was right in front of you, tip it away from CJ. Bengals now with the ball on the Panther 2.
  19. I still think it's remarkable how they're ranked so much higher than Mizzou. Mizzou has the same claim about losing a close game on the road against a top 25 team, and a similar opponents record. Clemson is still benefitting from FSU being overrated when they played. They're probably also benefitting from the Big 12 sucking and the ACC sucking less. I'd say also that Mizzou doesn't have a win as impressive as Clemson's win this week on their resume.
  20. Yay NFC South for being awesome I'm pretty sure Steve Smith is superhuman.
  21. I love hearing boos from opposing stadiums whose offenses can't crack the Peppers/Lucas/Gamble mystery.
  22. I'm actually somewhat surprised Clemson didn't also jump Florida considering their only loss was by one point, in double overtime, on the road against a Top 25 team.

  25. Why does the other team drive for a TD whenever I point out that they don't have a first down yet?
