  1. I'm not a huge fan of trading Barrett, but he is thirty years old...in any case it would certainly be an example of selling high since Barrett's trade value will probably never be higher than it is right now.
  2. You wouldn't trade ARam for ARod? I can see Z and DLee, but you GOTTA deal Ramirez for ARod. ARam is 3 years younger than ARod and puts up comparable numbers. ARam's OPS this season was .912 and ARod's was .914. ARam hit 3 more homers this year. ARam drove in only two fewer runs than ARod did despite being on a spectalularly worse team. ARod does get on base a little more (.421 and .392 the last two years compared to ARam's .358 and .352), but ARam is now entering (or has recently entered) his prime, while ARod is leaving his. At best, the two are a wash. So if you make me pick I'll take the one that's already here and, by all acounts, wants to be here.
  3. That's a good point. I've bandied about the idea of a best movie poll by Genre, but never been motivated to really flesh it out. Best Comedy would be an awesome one to have. I could see NSBB posters coming to blows over that one. In other words, let's do it! :D
  4. There wasn't really any time for their to be a market for Glendon. One site I'm looking at has Glendon being signed on Halloween last year. I'm not sure that's quite right, but I know it was before free agency actually started. I'm sure somebody would have given Glendon at least a couple million dollars last year, just like somebody will give Jason Marquis that money this year. Marquis sucks, but comparing Rusch's career to his is doing Glendon a big favor.
  5. I also think he'll want that big contract that he thinks he deserves, and the Cubs would be nuts to offer it to him. The Padres might lose Roberts and Cameron. They might offer up a lengthy deal for a guy like Pierre. They will want someone who can cover a lot of ground in CF and can lead off. Don't forget the White Sox, Phillies or Rockies either. They have all said they would want him. As far as I am concerned they can have him. Pierre was a Dusty boy and he said he wanted Dusty to stay so much he can go with him. I would love to see Pierre on the South Side.
  6. From what I've seen it seems pretty much a given that Pierre will go into free agency, which means he is gone because I'm pretty sure that he will get more money than what Hendry will offer.
  7. I don't recall hearing anything to suggest Rusch was pursued by anyone.
  8. Don't forget, they have Pedro and El Duque too but they're injured.
  9. I like this part... I hate that part. Fox games of the week just means I can only watch a Yankees or Mets game. I get Giants/Dodgers/A's games every Saturday. And I get Cubs or Cardinals games usually, which is why I like it.
  10. Please let the Mets win this series. Maine looks like a really good pitcher.
  11. TBA's are in. I don't anticipate ND having much trouble with UCLA...ND is 25-5 following bye weeks since 1984, and two of those losses were to top-ranked USC teams in 2004 and 2005. I won't see the game though because I will be at Ball State... ...watching Western probably plaster us. After what they did to Wolfe it's entirely possible that we may rush for negative 60 yards on Saturday. Then again, BSU has a tendency to make things very interesting against favorites when at home (see: BC 2004, NIU 2004, BG 2005, IU 2006), so we'll see. The Cards are pretty much done in the MAC West since they'd have to win out coupled with three CMU losses to win the division, so it's all for pride (and maybe the third MAC bowl tie-in) at this point.
  12. There are 10 prize packs. I finished 11th of Premium members. Way to go, me.
  13. I've got coverage maps. http://www.gribblenation.net/nflmaps/07-FOX-E.gif http://www.gribblenation.net/nflmaps/07-CBS.gif http://www.gribblenation.net/nflmaps/07-FOX-L.gif I get to see Carolina...again. :D
  14. Just landed four BSU-Michigan tickets for two weeks from Saturday. I can't wait to check out the Big House for myself.
  15. It's not at all out of the question that he just said that because he wanted to avoid tampering charges.
  16. FWIW, Buck and McIdiot talked about the ARod to the Cubs possibility on tonight's broadcast.
  17. why? there won't be any undefeated teams in the SEC. If the Big 10 gets bashed year in and year out for beating up on each other, then the SEC should too SSR hates the SEC love around here, methinks. Him and Cuse have gotten rather sick of it lately :P
  18. At least you picked the right game to get your 1.
  19. If the deal was Pie and Hill, I'd go for it. The "for starters" line concerns me however. Ditto and ditto.
  20. There's no way that's true. Off the top of my head I'd take Johan Santana, Miguel Cabrera, Albert Pujols, and David Wright straight up for Zambrano. And probably a handful of others too. But not ARod. I seem to like pitchers more than you and Soccer, but that's ok. I will say I'd take Pujols/Cabrera for Z, should've remembered that.
  21. Unbelievably, not a single question at the press conference.
  22. Probably enough to suffice for you guys.
