  1. So ND got clobbered by Gtown 66-48. Just as I'm getting into them full-bore...well...*points to sig* Ball State loses on a last-second off-balance jumper to Toledo 62-60. Sports is pissing me off.
  2. ND is an independent because they can be. No sense giving up millions of dollars in NBC money, etc. just to appease a group of ND haters. I miss the era of independents.
  3. Well.. if Giants lose tomorrow, which is likely according to most sport analysts.. Seattle will play Chicago. Huh. For some reason I was thinking tonight was the 6-3 game. No way the Gmen win tomorrow.
  4. Bulls are hands-down the best team in the East, and I can't wait to play Cleveland again and prove it once more.
  5. Seattle's playing New Orleans next week, not Chicago. I am at my friend's house. He is a Cowboys fan. He literally set his Cowboys shirt on fire after the game was over. I predicted Romo would lose the game...never imagined him doing it as the holder.
  6. ARE YOU KIDDING??? That is the worst call I've seen in years.
  7. Deng has taken over in the 2nd half. Bulls by 6 with 6 to play.
  8. Fair enough. Best I've seen it summarized yet actually.
  9. Matsuzaka I guess. They're all pretty indefensible though.
  10. Actually if the Buckeyes lose, then we'll have had the immensely enjoyable trifecta of Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State losses in BCS bowl games. seconded. If only Miami and F$U had lost as well... As opposed to USC winning, which is good? I'm neither here nor there when it comes to USC. PSU rarely plays them, so I really don't care about them. If only the same applied to ND with fans of teams that never play them... :daydreams: Theres plenty other reason to hate ND without playing them. There are probably plenty of reasons to hate a lot of teams without playing them. O$U, F$U, Miami and Michigan all constantly have players getting in trouble with the law who then receive minimal, if any, punishment. There are probably more of those that I'm not thinking of. ND's only crime is accepting what is given to them (NBC, bowl berths, accolades).

  12. ND's heading to Georgetown tomorrow and the Verizon Center, where they've been near-money under Brey (beat MD and Texas there in 02-03, beat Gtown there a few consecutive times until last year, and beat MD there again this year). Ball State hosts Toledo in the MAC opener. Time to put the train wreck of an OOC season behind us.

Where there's a Morelli, there's a way. Yup, but according to the depth charts on rivals.com, Notre Dame has all of three returning starters. Thanks for those outside the top 25 recruiting classes in back to back years, Ty. 2 offensive linemen and 2 defensive tackles in two years. Think about that for a second.
  14. JESUS CHRIST do I love it though. Only a few things in life come close to it...trashing the Colts, the Packers, and Michigan. Sadly, I don't enjoy my own teams victories as much as I like seeing these teams lose. At least you admit it which is more than most of your ilk can say

Replace that with Michigan, and DOUBLE SADLY and you'd be right. I know this will piss of Domer fans, and I honestly dont care, but can we stop sending ND to BCS Bowls? It bores the audience, it embarrasses Notre Dame, enough already. We get it, you guys can get 9-10 wins every year. But the last 2 years you were outclassed by the elite competition, you're stealing spots away from teams that deserve to go. Would it have been less boring to see LSU clobber West Virginia, the only other eligible team? And in 05, they got an auto-bid, not an invitation. They finished top 6 like any other outside of a BCS conference team would have had to to gain an auto-bid. FOR THE LAST TIME, I DISAGREE WITH THE THREE-TEAM RULE. IT'S A LOAD OF BALONEY. DOESN'T MAKE IT LESS OF A RULE. Hey, then we agree. Shoulda been Wisconsin in there. I don't even have a problem with ND in last year, but this year...eh...they didn't really deserve to go. Except that they did, given the circumstances. It was a down year for the top teams all over college FB, and normally ND's resume wouldn't have probably gotten them in, but this year it was them or West Virginia, and we all know who they're picking if it comes to that. Whether they had any chance to beat LSU is one thing, but by regular season alone, they had every right to be at the Sugar Bowl.

Larry Coker at Miami? (T_T talking about just getting to the national championship.) That was a special case, Miami had the most talent by far. That 01 Miami team was absolutely stacked. Bama's not even close to that level. Good point though, you can probably strike Miami from the list too for the same reason.
  18. Chiefs Pats Eagles Seahawks Whatever the spread, those are my picks.

KSU, Kansas, IU, NW, Illinois, NC State, Duke, Kentucky, Cincy, UConn and Vandy can be cut from that list without even thinking. I'd also think that a team with a new coach won't get it done (I don't ever remember it happening), so slice Bama too.

9th ranked Michigan in '02. Actually, they were 6th. And they were 8th when we beat them in '04. They must be referring to end-of-season rankings because we also beat them in '05 when they were 3rd. They were 9th at the end of the season. Well, there you go. One good thing that happened this week is that PSU won their bowl game, so we can finally put that "Weis hasn't beaten a team that finished up ranked" talk to rest. Next season, with ND's schedule, I expect 8 wins, with losses to Michigan and USC again (both will be too talented), as well as any two of Purdue/UCLA/PSU/BC/GT if Calvin somehow comes back. 9 wins and a Gator Bowl berth would be an incredible coaching job by Weis. I guesss I'm not as optimistic as you. 6 or 7 wins next year-there are simply too many playmakers leaving at the end of the year. That doesn't mean it will be absolutely be terrible though-it's just a needed year so Weis can continue to get his recruits in. I agree with you that 9 wins would be a big overacheiving year and would probably be the result of some great coaching. Well, look at the schedule game by game: GT - should be a win if CJ does not come back, although you never know I guess @PSU - very tough, including first road game for ND's new QB - probably a L if PSU improves as much as I think they will @Mich - Henne/Hart/Manningham back, definitely an L MSU - should be a win - Spartans lose Stanton and Trannon @Purdue - borderline, I think the Boilers keep most of their impact players save Dorien Bryant @UCLA - should be much improved, very possible L BC - should be a win, but I've learned not to assume anything with these snakes USC - loss, nothing we can do about it Navy - win Air Force - win Duke - win @Stanford - win There are 6 wins on that schedule at worst assuming CJ doesn't return, and I figure the Irish will manage to steal the Purdue and BC games to make eight. It's easy to forget that, save Quinn and Samardzija and maybe Abiamiri and Landri, we're going to be replacing most of these seniors with more talented players.
  21. Starting this when I was in N'awlins...not cool. But yeah, I'm in.
  22. I just signed up and am 28509. I figure by the time I hit the top of the list I'll either have enough money to get them myself or know enough people so that I could sell them off. :)
  23. For what team? Which other teams don't we like? The Brewers? The Padres? The Mets? Probably one of those 3 Astros. Yeah, that's pretty much the only frontier left short of, say, a Sox or Cards dynasty.
  24. The Bears and Colts will both lose their first playoff games, and the Chargers will cruise to a Super Bowl victory over the New Orleans Saints. Runners-up will be the Patriots in the AFC and the Eagles in the NFC.
