  1. Really impressed with Jimenez's BB/K ratio so far in the AZL (4 BB's, 5 K's in 11 games). Combine that with the fact that he's showing good power in games, he's been really good for a 17 year-old.
  2. Does Hak-Ju Lee have a Twitter account? Because if not, we should create one and tweet at Keith Law.
  3. Fangraphs updated Top 25. For some reason, they seem to think Baez will be a RFer. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/top-25-prospects-a-midseason-update/
  4. len's argument was that it would look bad to the other players if a respected veteran teammate lost his job because he had a baby which is a terrible argument but w/e He's losing his job because he sucks at it. I hope he realizes that. If not, just DFA him.
  5. Not really. When your bench is listed as "Granger, Napier, etc.", that's horrendous. Wade will play 50% of the time and, as much as I enjoyed him as a Bull, Deng just hasn't been a very good offensive player since he decided against wrist surgery. I think they're a tier below Cleveland, Chicago and Indy.
  6. A 16% K rate is pretty 'low-K', especially when talking about someone who's supposed to hit for power. Also, since when does Bryant "sell out" for power? Every time I watch one his homeruns, his swing is so controlled that it looks like he just hit a shallow fly. And then it goes 420 feet.
  7. lol wut at the bold Problem solved: LF: Schwarber CF: Bryant RF: Soler
  8. Black's last 10 starts: 52 IP, 53K, 23BB, 1.90 ERA.
  9. I was always surprised that he was a bust. Both the stats and the scouting reports said he should have been good.
  10. Alex Gonzalez, learn how to field a routine GB Yep. And it's not even close.
  11. Certainly not one led by pitching prospects. Maybe for an established MLB starter. Remember when Theo traded Hanley Ramirez for Josh Beckett? Any trade for one of our young position players would have to be for someone like that, i.e. Chris Sale, Strasburg, Bumgarner, etc.
  12. Someone on RealGM said you could do Boozer to LA for Gasol plus trade exception, and then send the trade exception and Dunleavy to Indy for Stephenson. Not sure the exact mechanics of how that would work though (not to mention I can't see the Lakers doing that).
  13. It won't. Maybe it'll shut the door on the "we won't be that bad after we sell off this year" talk. He's an integral part of Project Tank.
  14. Giordano's. I've never had Lou's but my cousin, who's lived in or near Chicago for a few years, swears by it. Anything but Giordano's. It's far and away the worst.
  15. It's almost certainly passed You're right. For some reason, I was thinking mid-July rather than mid-June.
  16. Kerry Wood, followed by Aramis Ramirez. I was hoping they'd win in 2008 and Wood could close out the final game by throwing a 1998-style slurve and retiring after the game.
  17. Javy would have a similar stat line to Mike Olt if he started in the majors. Unlike Olt, he has the talent to adjust, but I don't think anyone can say for certain whether starting him in the majors this year would have been good or bad for his development. I highly doubt it would have helped the major league team, though.
  18. Frustrating, but probably good for a lot of guys other than Bryant. A lot of GMs will rush guys in an effort to see major league results and keep their jobs. This FO has complete job security, which is nice (but also has resulted in a long rebuilding process).
  19. Those guys have more power potential, Russell has more speed. I think Russell has the ability to hit for a higher average, too.
  20. The BABIP doesn't bother me. Guys like Trout, McCutchen and Puig are going to have high BABIPs due to their skillset. (really not trying to sound like a smart ass) What about Puig's skillset justifies a very high BABIP with a pretty low LD%? Speed. I fully expect Puig's LD% to get back up to where it was last year (19%), which is pretty close to Trout's and McCutchen's career marks (around 20%). (really not trying to sound like a smart ass) What about Rizzo justifies people actually arguing they'd rather have him than a guy a full year younger who has been arguably the best hitter in baseball over the past calendar year and plays a more premium defensive position?
  21. The BABIP doesn't bother me. Guys like Trout, McCutchen and Puig are going to have high BABIPs due to their skillset.
  22. I'd consider Chris Sale, Yordano Ventura, Jose Fernandez, Carlos Gomez, Josh Donaldson, Yasiel Puig, Anthony Rendon, and Andrew McCutchen, but probably wouldn't pull the trigger on anyone besides Trout. This is a very odd list. I wouldn't consider any of those guys. Maaaaaaaybe Mccutchen. We have Rizzo locked up through 2021 making nothing! Puig is a pretty obvious choice.
