  1. It seems the Orioles beat reporters are hearing similar things to Levine, from Jeff Zrebiec's column: If Roberts goes -- and I fully expect him to -- Brandon Fahey and Freddie Bynum would be the two top internal candidates to replace him and neither should be a starting everyday second baseman at this point in their careers. That's why I fully expect middle infielder Ronny Cedeno and/or second baseman Eric Patterson (the younger brother of Corey) to be included in the Chicago Cubs' return for Roberts
  2. Im starting to think that we end up with crisp and roberts stays in baltimore :banghead:
  3. Dont know if this has been posted, from MLBtraderumors: This morning it was reported that the Cubs had two scouts at the Orioles' spring game yesterday to watch Brian Roberts. Now, several people have written in to let us now that Bruce Levine of ESPN 1000 is reporting that Peter Angelos has given Andy MacPhail the green light to trade Roberts. It has long been rumored that Angelos might have been holding up the trade to the Cubs because of his personal affection for Roberts. With Angelos' blessing, this deal may finally happen in the next few days.
  4. Musberger is in my top 3 along with Pat Hughes and of course GUS JOHNSON
  5. I laughed out loud
  6. There goes Bonds last chance to play
  7. Since I don't have anything of quality to add to the Roberts discussion, of course neither does anyone else, I would like to say... GR, how do the Dogs keep pulling those games out? I've watched a couple of the games on the Connections channel, and they keep pulling victory out of the jaws of defeat. It's looking like they only have a couple of tough games left to run the table. There's an outside shot both they and Butler are Top 10 when they play on the 23rd. Should be a great game. I don't know. They're my alma mater, but I never get to watch the games and I don't watch ESPN or any other highlight show anymore, so all I get is the box score & recaps. They do have some talent this year, which they haven't had for a while. I'd love to see them run the table the rest of the way and actually get a team in the tourney that they have a chance to beat. I go to ISU and was obviously at the game last night. Drake is good shooting team, I think they hit 6 three's in a row at one point. They also execute their plays well. I don't think they are top 20 in the country material though. If they aren't hitting their outside shots they really struggle to get anything going inside. Big win for them last night, and big loss for us.
  8. Yeah especially with my ISU redbirds on the bubble watch and a big game against Drake tonight
  9. Buster Olney has the latest on the Cubs' talks to acquire second baseman Brian Roberts. According to Olney: "Sources involved in Baltimore's trade talks with Chicago expressed confidence that at some point, the Orioles and Cubs will finish the proposed Brian Roberts deal." Olney says Sean Gallagher would be the centerpiece of the deal. On February 3rd, ESPN's Jayson Stark said Gallagher or Sean Marshall would be included, http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2008/02/cubsbrian-rober.html
  10. I'll do it if theres still spots
  11. I'll take Baltimore
  12. I dont like this trade either. We still have a hole at SS and Derosa cannot play there everyday. The only reason I would want this is if it will get Lou to move Soriano out of the leadoff spot. Otherwise I think we are not doing anything to improve the team that much.
  13. Cubs will never trade D-Lee. Nor should they.
  14. And sign with the Cubs Tuesday we could never be so lucky
  15. Yeah, because we really gave up a lot for those 2, who are essentially the backbone of the team. Where are Jose Hernandez and hee Sop Choi now? That's what I thought. Crikeys, go on a minor slump or miss a few games and all the sudden you're an albatross. I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic
  16. Don't know if this has been posted. Thought it was an interesting article. http://fannation.com/blogs/post/49053
  17. I would love to get Salty. I think it would take more to get Tex though.
  18. He looks great. I think the Cubs will add someone before the deadline as well making it a very strong pen.
  19. Please release him already. Howry has been good lately so he gets a pass. But Eyre.............Ugh
  20. I think my wolverines have what it takes to win it this year. Go Big Blue in '07.
