  1. I'm not sure what has been up with LeBron, but he has looked even more confused than his teammates in the two losses. Obviously some credit has to be given to Boston and their defense, but I haven't seen LeBron so indecisive and baffled since his first few years in the league. It's frustrating after getting used to him being consistently awesome.
  2. Boston has played really, really well. And, almost all of the credit has to be given to Rondo. Even when he doesn't score or get an assist, he has a huge impact. Another big match up problem. We just don't have anyone even close to being fast enough to pretend to stop him every now and then.
  3. Yup. In almost every instance, someone running on the field is just drunk and looking for attention, but there have been enough instances of players and umps being attacked that it shouldn't be tolerated. It's really not hard to understand. If you don't want to get tasered at a baseball game, all you have to do is stay somewhere in the stands. Unless the cops want you to do anything but sit still in your seat. Not that this guy didn't deserve it, but... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXkwa9uFBss&feature=related Not sure how familiar you are with the internet video(s)/memes going around, but that's actually the same old guy that punched out that black dude on the bus.
  4. This isn't on LeBron. If Boston's big three played like they had fresh legs, this series wouldn't really be close. If all of those guys are somehow healthy, I honestly think the Celtics are the best team in the league. Besides LBJ, there's not another position on the court where the Cavs are better than Boston. So, you're saying if you could put them in a time machine then it wouldn't be close? Ok, well let the Cavs do the same with Shaq and it's an easy sweep.
  5. People in Cleveland really hate the Indians, but that's probably because we have really, really bad baseball fans.
  6. I know he would probably be further down the list for some if not all of you guys, but if things didn't go exactly as planned this offseason, how would you feel about Dirk if he opted out?
  7. While that might be true, it doesn't prove that Rose is the better player. It just proves that he's the better player for Chicago. Most people on this board agree that Bosh would be a better fit for Chicago than Wade, but I doubt any of them think Bosh is the better player.
  8. I can't tell if you're trolling or not, so I'll just assume you are. But: LOL can't conceive of the notion that lebron excels in the nba because of the referees? then why would lebron disappear in international competition? The NBA hasn't changed. The international game has. International players/teams have gotten much, much better. No, I wouldn't.
  9. I can't tell if you're trolling or not, so I'll just assume you are. But: LOL
  10. Define better? I did that in my other post. :[
  11. The name of this thread confuses me. :-k
  12. I was going to dispute you, but then I realized you must have dyslexia and just screwed up the names. Rondo is a better passer, rebounder, and defender. Their slashing abilities are almost a wash, although Rose probably does have a slight advantage. And, Derek has a big advantage in the mid-range game. I wouldn't say it is by a large margin, but I'd give it to Rondo for now.
  13. Yeah, I'd have to say that Rondo is better than Rose right now. But, not by much. And, as soon as next year, Rose will probably be the better player.
  14. On one of those silly polls that Sports Nation does, 60% of the voters think Howard is worth 125m. ](*,)
  15. Haha. "Real world troll" is an absolutely perfect description of Varejao. Nice. I agree 100% The complaining about the officiating is 10x worse than the actual officiating. Even the superstars who constantly get "superstar calls" constantly complain. They need to start with the players. Let them talk to the officials about a call, but quit complaining on every single call that is made in the game. It has gotten to a ridiculous level. It's time to start giving people technicals a lot quicker. Oh, and Stan Van Gundy is the most annoying coach I have ever watched in any sport.
  16. What am I missing? Noah's whole "hand extended against Shaq's waist" is supposed to be a foul every time but they never called it. Not once. You might want to consult a physician. You apparently missed a 40 lb arm elbowing a man in the head right in the middle of the frame, completely unobstructed. Of course, you also missed shaq throwing shoulders into Noah, a similarly illegal move (but one done with far more force) to Noah's hand against his waist, but one that Shaq has managed to get away with for a very long time. I saw the elbow. But, you don't honestly think anything looked intentional about that, do you? He spun the opposite direction.
  17. Varejao is a ridiculously good defender. Like, really, really good. He doesn't get as much credit (and understandably so) because of all his flops and general annoying play. Most people just don't realize how good the guy really is.
  18. What are you watching on the Rose call? They just showed the replay again, you want to retract? To say nothing of the 3 "fouls" called on Miller and Noah. The two calls on Miller were terrible calls. The call on Noah was easy. Noah was throwing his body forward into Shaq. Noah has been fouling Shaq the entire series and getting away with it, yet Shaq has been called for plenty of offensive fouls. Again, the calls on Miller were complete crap, but go back and look at the replay on the Noah foul. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jTmWQHI81Q edit: yes, this is a different play What am I missing? Noah's whole "hand extended against Shaq's waist" is supposed to be a foul every time but they never called it. Not once.

He just likes to do this from time to time. ESPN can talk about it for a couple of days and then he can come out, score 40, and everyone can tell him how great he is again. Rinse, wash, repeat. He can annoy me from time to time, but it's pretty awesome that he played a terrible game and still almost got a triple double.
  20. Yeah, that doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. It would make sense if Noah was a better jump shooter and it gave Rose another option with the pick and pop, but he isn't. When Rose's jump shot is going like it is tonight, there is no stopping him. Let him carry the team until he cools off.
  21. Given, I've only heard Ron maybe 15-20 times when I've been at a friend's house, but he's absolutely hysterical. I hated him at first, but the more I listened, the more I liked him. I absolutely love it when Pat tells some long story that lasts for a few minutes and has in-depth analysis, which is shortly followed by a 2-3 second pause in the booth and then Ron saying "yeah..." Simply hysterical.
  22. Wins. Determines pitcher's success. It's no different then saying what you expect a hitter's HR's to be or something along those lines.Yeah. That's actually a lot different.
  23. If this were two years ago he would have went 3-4 with 3 HRs. His only out would have been due to his ongoing insecurity about his unacceptable upbringing. And, he would have been intentionally walked three times. Allen Iverson all over again.
  24. It's because we had a fighter's chance in the series' against those teams. We never had a shot in this series. I wasn't even really upset that we were mauled today. The only reason why I don't want the Cavs to win the title is because I want LeBron to be so pissed off at the organization that he decides to bolt. Other than that, I wouldn't have a problem rooting for them at all. LeBron could really only be upset with himself. The Cavs had some glaring matchup problems with the Magic last year, and for the most part they went out and fixed them. They also added another very solid offensive option in Jamison. The Cavs have, by far, the most talented roster in the Eastern Conference. Although, Orlando still scares the hell out of me. They have the best inside-outside game in the NBA, and if they get some hot shooting for a few games in a row, there really isn't a whole lot that the Cavs can do about it. I think that if both teams make it to the ECF, Vince Carter will be the most important player in the series.
  25. oh come on. this isn't near the gut-wrenching agony that cavs fans were in for years. we expect to lose, the bulls have won a game, that's a positive. just happy to be here. Exactly. I'm assuming that you're a Cubs fan. So, being a fan of a team that doesn't win championships, you get excited at the idea of the playoffs and just the possibility. It's almost impossible to not get worked up. Look at all of those annoying Saints fans. Sure, it's annoying, but it is pretty expected. Also, I don't think I've said a single thing in this thread where I was convinced the Cavs were going to win the championship or acted that way in the least. You're the one doing things like that. i never let myself get excited over the cubs, ever. That must suck. Why be a fan of a team if not for the extreme highs and lows?
