  1. All right, I've worked enough for today. Time to leave to go watch ... dongs.
  2. Schwarber is also a Hoosier. He's clearly leading for best Dong.
  3. I wish my Cubs related fatalism wasn't kicking into high gear -- more than the last three games, actually. I have no rational reason to doubt Arrieta here, other than baseball is weird.
  4. Well he will have a short leash but with the way the offense has been it might not be enough Yeah, top of the first was a great chance to jump out ahead. Worried Cubs will rue that one -- though maybe the bats will wake up. They need to. Because I'm guessing the Cards are going to score more than one against Hendricks. And, yeah, I have half expected a Hendricks-Hammel piggyback today...though I don't know what that would do to Game 4.
  5. Ugh. Obviously vey early, but why I thought last night was so important. Do not have much faith in Hendricks this game.
  6. I feel so much more relaxed than before the Pirates game. Yep, no matter what there's more after today, so not nearly the nerves of the WC game. Today is really big though, if the Cubs win they're in tremendous shape to win the series in 3 or 4. Yeah, my nervousness is pretty high considering it's not the one-game situation like Wednesday. Like you said, a win puts the Cubs in great position to win the series in three or four games; but, on the flip side, a loss tonight puts the Cubs squarely behind the eight-ball (I'm not sure how much faith I have in Hendricks tomorrow--perhaps I'm wrong--and I'd prefer not to have him pitching on the road looking into the face of a 2-0 deficit). I guess this is my way of saying that, gut feeling, winner of tonight's game wins the series.
  7. The subject of this thread -- Cubs v. Cardinals in the playoffs -- is almost inexplicable to my brain. I can't imagine how stressful these games are going to be...
  8. Last year they had streaming if you authenticated with a cable login. Just finished reading a Techgraphs article that said TBS hasn't formally announced anything for this year, but my guess is it'll be the same. OK, cool thanks. I googled but was worried the blackout restrictions or whatever would apply. I mooch off my parent's login (so I'm still in some quasi-adulthood, I guess).
  9. TBS has streaming for playoff games, right? I'm not sure I should be in public for this game ...
  10. Man, I hope not. Man, I hope so.
  11. Yeah, it's definitely been Purdue and Maryland embarrassing Big 10 football recently, not Penn State ... :?
  12. Sadly, it doesn't surprise me at all. It's a tough crime to have clear cut evidence for in the first place, but then there's the added resistance of thinking the presence of a condom could mean it was rape, or if she's not (to be horribly blunt) torn up then, hey, it couldn't have been rape, right? It's a miracle anyone ever gets convicted over these sorts of crimes. I wasn't clear. I meant specifically what he said about cases involving children. Well, with children, i'd bet that they come forward far later than others. I have no idea, though. Even when they come forward immediately it's rare. To be clear, I'm not talking about bruises on arms or legs from being held down or something--though that's pretty rare too--I'm specifically talking about vaginal injuries. Which are surprisingly rare, even in young girls. And, yes, my job is often less than uplifting.
