  1. Gordon is just an incredibly flawed player in a lot of ways. I'm glad I won't have to root for him after this year. Also the defense is just in epic fail mode tonight.
  2. I could live with getting Kirk's contract off the the books. Hopefully we can keep Noah if it comes down to that.
  3. It's also sort of reflective of the inconsistency of Thomas' game. Sometimes he looks like he's going to be a force of nature (which Aldridge NEVER looks like) and then other times he looks like he's the dumbest player in the NBA.
  4. Thomas, Noah, Gooden, Thabo, and a 1st rounder would be a hell of a lot to give up.
  5. Hadn't seen that yet. I'm sure he's pissed at her and MLB for attatching names to the samples in what was supposed to be an anonymous survey. But, he made the bed. She'll regret it when Boras has her meet an unfortunate "accident."
  6. I agree with everything you said. I would prefer a bigger guard than Kirk and one who can really guard and stroke the 3 ball but that's just nitpicking at this point. Kirk isn't as good a shooter as he should be.
  7. He tried to savage Selena Roberts in the Gammons interview. ARod claimed she entered his apartment building and was given a citation, was kicked off the University of Miami by campus police, and that she's digging into rumors of PED use dating back to high school.
  8. I don't see how Golden State is a suitor if the Suns are interested in expiring contracts. The only one they have is Marcus Williams at 1.2 million.
  9. I don't think the Suns would be interested in Noah (as opposed to Thabo) because of Robin Lopez. Seems like a lateral move at best and they need perimeter defenders.
  10. In the event that the Bulls have to give up Noah and Thomas in an Amare deal, it shouldn't be too hard to find a replacement who will save us from the horror of significant minutes for Gray and Nocioni at the 4 and 5 spots. I like Noah's upside but guys who can match his current production are a dime a dozen. Plus, there's still some sort of market out there for teams looking to clear cap space for 2010 and we have the Hughes contract. And maybe some nutty team is still interested in Kirk and Noc. We can get an adequate big man that way.
  11. I think the Suns would be more interested in Thabo than Noah. I'd give up either in conjunction with Tyrus/Gooden but I'd like the keep Noah if at all possible. If we get Amare he can truly focus on being a defender and rebounder.
  12. Sammy actually had to use steroids because he was giving himself a handicap by using a corked bat. It's all good.
  13. The Lakers make it look so easy on offense.
  14. ^Yep. Plus tanking would come along with a certain devaluation of tradeable assets (e.g. Noah and Thomas). Right now, their values are on the upswing and either they become good players that we can use to build around or something we can move for a true difference maker like Amare. Outside of that, I would liken it to a marginal team making a bowl game (with the obvious caveat that you don't gain anything by missing a bowl game like you do by missing the NBA playoffs). Those extra practices and games can't hurt a teams development, especially one where the franchise player is a rookie PG.
  15. I think it's pretty clear that KG is more valuable to a team like the Celtics and Jefferson's more valuable to a team like the TWolves.
  16. How is it for the best? So we can pick Chase Budinger next June? Yay? at least we have a shot at getting somebody good. it worked out pretty well last year. what is the upside of winning at this point? what chance is there of something good coming out of it? sneaking in the playoffs and getting embarrassed by boston/cleveland/orlando? sounds fun. Well I wouldn't count on making a huge move in the lottery. Last year was an aberration, obviously. I'd rather make it as a low seed and get waxed by a powerhouse then draft at the bottom of the lottery. At least Rose would get a taste of playoff basketball. I guess that's where we differ. I'm interested in winning a championship or at least going deep into the playoffs and having something to get excited for. That team is going to offer neither or those things this year. I mean, how fun were the playoffs for the Cubs the last 2 years? I'm not saying they'd luck out into a top pick.... they wouldn't have to. Any lottery pick would bring us closer to winning a championship than a meaningless playoff appearance. You make it seem like the Bulls don't get a draft pick if they make the playoffs. If they squeeze in as a low seed the pick will only be marginally higher than what they would get as a playoff team.

  18. lol, Tyrus "Larry Bird" Thomas from way down town!
  19. Freakin' Dirk. Should've had this one.
  20. Really good game coming down the stretch here. A W would cap off a really nice road trip.
  21. There's your marine biologist reference. "The sea was angry that day...like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli."
  22. I bet Jared Lorenzen isn't taking PEDs. If you change the wording to 'never used', then you probably lose your bet. They pretty much all use something. What do you mean by "something"? Just because something is a supplement doesn't mean it's in some sort of legal gray area. And I would dispute the notion that they pretty much all did something that was either illegal, would become illegal, or could loosely be defined as a PED.
  23. It's very possible (likely?) that the majority of guys who used steroids will never be fingered in the way players were in the Michell Report, BALCO investigation, books, and other media reports. That could change if a bunch of positive tests are unsealed or revealed ala ARod. That being said, it's still a little surprising that Sosa hasn't really come up in any of this given that he's right up there with Bonds, McGwire, and Clemens as inviting targets to out. But I still think he did 'em.
  24. I bet Jared Lorenzen isn't taking PEDs.
  25. Little more information on the Amare situation: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3890478 Stein reports that the Bulls and Heat are the two teams most seriously going after Stoudemire. Get it done Pax!
