  1. That lead evaporated quickly.
  2. I think it's fair to point out that Manning dismantled the Jets very good defense while the Saints basically were outplayed but managed to stick around and win it in the end. It's just one game so of course you can't draw sweeping conclusions from it. If the roles had been flipped people would be saying this would be closer to a toss up.
  3. I'm really not getting why some people think the Colts are just that much better than the Saints. Like I've said before, I really think it has something to do with the fact that they are the Saints. It's etched in our collective minds that the Saints = bad football. It's like if the Royals were suddenly winning 100 games a year, I'd have a hard time taking them seriously even in the face of the stats. The spread is 5.5. Pretty large, but not overwhelming. The Colts dismantled a team in the AFC title game while the Saints were very fortunate to win. I wouldn't be surprised or anything if the Saints won. Personally, you're just overblowing the extent to which people think Indy will blow 'em out. As far as how close people think the game will be it's definitely the closest matchup in the last few years I think.
  4. Ah yes, the no respect card. Like clockwork it shows up every year before the Super Bowl.
  5. This is the funniest NBA column I've read in a long, long time. I can't tell if this is real or satire or what. http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/Whitlock-Oden-pics-make-it-hard-to-measure-up-12810 Jason Whitlock spends an entire column about how Oden and other NBA players makes NBA beat writers insecure about the size of their dicks.
  6. http://www.csnne.com/pages/landing?Pierce-Rondo-expected-to-be-named-as-All=1&blockID=170983&feedID=3945 Rose in the ASG...maybe. The reserves are announced on TNT tonight.
  7. Zach Randolph has been indisputably good this year. He's a monster on the offensive glass, has a legit post game, and he isn't jacking up lots of bad 3s any more. His defense is pretty bad though. Memphis is pretty damn good if you haven't noticed this year. They're solid everywhere except at point guard...too bad they drafted Thabeet over Evans, Flynn, Curry, Jennings, etc.
  8. Kevin Rogers? Ex ND guy right? I remember he was an up and comer under Bob Davie but then Notre Dame actually had to play football.
  9. Thanks for the breakdown. Under the scenario you're probably better off getting one max guy and filling in the rest of the roster anyway. With Thomas (as maddening as he is), Kirk, and Salmons gone that's a pretty dry cupboard left even if you could somehow add a Bosh and Johnson type. Get Dino-Bosh and add another effective piece (or keep Kirk if need be) and I'll have considered it a good offseason. Maybe our own JJ can develop into something as well.
  10. Because he makes more money for more years. Salmons can opt out after this season. My hope is that moving Kirk into the starting lineup has made him appealing to a contender and we can trade him for expirings. Then Salmons can move back into the starting lineup and play well enough to convince himself to opt out. And then we can strikeout on two big FA fish.
  11. One can only hope this means Kirk is being moved...I think he's built up his value a bit after that abysmal start.
  12. I thought the Thomas 4th and inches play warranted a longer review...I'm almost suspicious if they got all the angles because the one Fox showed before going to commercial showed it was very, very close (and it would've been the best angle to judge from).
  13. Nah, it comes down to that 12th man in the huddle. If not for that, it was an automatic run call for the next play and Longwell probably would have come through. Bingo Actually, it comes down to the timeout called with 19 seconds left. They should have let the clock run down, called timeout, and kicked the FG. They would've wanted to get closer than a 50 yard attempt. There's nothing wrong with the timeout at 19 seconds...just don't go full [expletive] mode and put 12 guys in the huddle. And then don't compound it by throwing a pick.
  14. Crappy, disjointed last drive. I still think Thomas was short on that 4th and inches. Horrible PI call too. Oh well.
  15. I kind of hate the Saints now. You've gotten a zillion breaks. Quit whining.
  16. Horrible call.
  17. He definitely lost control, IMO. Forward progress stops when he gets pushed back though. I think the fumble will screw him though. Did he ever lose control of the ball? It might have moved, but forward progress still counts.
  18. Hmm...that review was done fast. I think it was closer than that.
  19. Ohhhh, the ball got jarred loose. I think that might be short!
  20. Saints fans deserved Katrina and to lose this game because they practice Voodoo.
  21. Chester Taylor is way better than Matt Forte, sadly.
  22. Nice tackle.
  23. a possible Favre retirement coupled with the rookie Tim Tebow should make for a seamless transition of hero fellating for Buck next year Huh? Why would Buck hero worhip Tebow? someone needs to pick up where the college announcers left off Brennaman calls NFL games.
  24. Favre has twice as many attempts as Brees.
