I never said there wasn't a threshold where it would be worth it. If Palmer plays amazing and the Raiders win the Super Bowl, then the trade looks great. But that's the same thing as saying if Soriano comes close to replicating his 2006 season on average over the entirety of his contract, that the $136M will be worth it. Yes it's possible. But that doesn't mean it's very likely. We could get into a long, tiresome discussion about why that Soriano analogy isn't the same thing but let's not. I was thinking more along the lines of if Palmer gives you 75% of what Rich Gannon did then you're probably at least breaking even on the trade.
