  1. Solid backup point? Obviously, that's more likely than anything more than that, at this point. But, I thought he had star capability last year before the draft. Nothing to do but hope he bounces back after a shitty first year.
  2. Hmm, kind of thought we may get a slight discount on him.
  3. To me, this is better than them saddling us with some stupid contract in FA, being a 35-45 win team, then taking much less than even THIS, at this time next year for Jimmy.
  4. This is odd I'm just glad they started the rebuild instead of wasting another season of hopeful mediocrity. Again, I'm not a huge fan of the return. But I do like LaVine. He's a gamble right now, but I'm OK with that. I HAD liked Dunn. Its not inconceivable he's able to turn into a solid point. And I like Markkonen. That said, I expected a future pick or two, plus keeping 16.(assuming we were dealing with Minnesota and those guys were in the deal) I'd have preferred dealing with Phoenix. I don't think Boston had any real intention to get him, or they would have him.
  5. I WOULD have fired them long ago. But, they're here. And you're right, maybe for a while..... I'd still prefer this path, understanding that they're likely overseeing it. I don't think they're competent for EITHEF direction, so I'd rather get the eventual rebuild under way. But yeah, if Theo and Jed were doing it.....Deng would have been dealt for more than what turned into a 2nd. Gasol would have been dealt. Taj would have been dealt for something else. And we would have probably dealt Jimmy last year. Plus, we'd have found ways to buy other picks.
  6. Hatch is at 7 3 1 0 1 6, on 84 pitches.
  7. This is such a confounding post. Man, you really have dug your heels in on this. I said I wanted a rebuild. No reason to back off that. I'm not overwhelmed with the return. Its still better than the idea of being .500ish again. You know of anyone wanting GarPax back?
  8. https://twitter.com/nsbbcom/status/878050658447962112
  9. Damn, what WERE they offering?
  10. Never mind, that was a Rich Eisen retweet.
  11. I hate it. A 7 footer that can't rebound or play defense. His ceilin is a useful role player imo. We needed to shoot for a star since we dont have one now I think he's more than a role player. I'd have been A-OK with Monk too.
  12. And before anyone starts in with the return.....I'm just glad they're going to rebuild. I'm not overwhelmed with the return. I'd venture to say I'd have probably liked offers from some teams better than the one we took. I hate GarPax. I hope they're gone at this time next year. But I'm happy they made the deal now, because if its around this value NOW, it would have been much less at this point next year. Again, I think the return may wind up OK. I really did like Dunn last year. And I like Markkonen. LaVine can be an AS, if he makes it all the way back. Its a start. Not the start I envisioned. But it gets this rebuild underway. We're going to have high picks for a little while. And I prefer that go being a 40ish win, non threat. But again, I really hope GarPax is done at this time next year.
  13. is "ass" a direction? Absolutely, it is.
  14. I like the pick at least
  15. They chose a direction. I like that. LaVine will be around long term. I wanted more. Don't get me wrong. I think we probably overvalued Jimmy. Or GarPax took an offer that we think was less than some other ones. Which wouldn't surprise me. Now, fire GarPax.
  16. I wanted more picks, but I've always liked LaVine. I think he'll come back just fine. Dunn? I loved him before this year. I guess we still expect a bunch out of him. 7 and 16 will be fun now. Edit oh horsefeathers we gave up 16?
  17. She's Kate Beckinsale and you are under her spell. If you're under a spell, you don't even have a choice, so I guess we'd all screw her. If I'm not under a spell and also NOT married, then I'd probably do it......Beckinsale is horsefeathering hot.
  18. Strained lat for Zastryzny.
  19. My stomach actually dropped, when I saw the tweet. Even knowing this was coming. Oh well, he'll get his horsefeathers together and mash again soon enough. OTOH, I am very excited to see Zagunis. Who may make things extremely interesting once Schwarber is ready again.
  20. Lange, Velázquez, and Estrada are unsigned, as far as top 10 rounds go.....Wish like hell we'd get some bonus numbers.
  21. https://twitter.com/dubsdynasty/status/877896464646545409 It may be Stephen A, but this is funny.
  22. I have full confidence that when GarPax does finally get fired, we'll hire this horsefeathering moron.
