  1. I want 2 of 3 again. Our bats have been asleep. There's not a,pitching matchup in this series that scares me. This one, Villanueva vs Teheran, and Shark vs Hudson are all winnable. It'd be great to take a 4-2 record home for Milwaukee. Do good in that one and theres a good feeling about the 4 gamer with San Fran even.
  2. If he got it to 20%, I'd be pretty optimistic about his future. If he can get it down below 25%, I'll be hopeful. If he can't get it down to 25% in his third exposure to AAA...it would be a bad sign. I'll even agree on the 2nd part. Unfortunately, I definitely agree on the 3rd part as well. Tangled, he was at 29.8% in 11 and 33.8% in 12 at Iowa.
  3. Brett wound up with 2 K's in 5 PA. So, what K% is acceptable at this point, before we think he's got a legit shot at being our longterm CFer? 20% in AAA, is my target, I think.......
  4. Brett HBP in his 1st AB. Facing lefty Steven Fife, who has had a stint with the Dodgers. Decent test for Brett.
  5. If his power from last year carries over, he's got a serious chance at skyrocketing up the prospect lists.
  6. A throwing error by Marco has helped lead to 2 runs in the 2nd against PJ. Still batting.
  7. So, it looks like they have a deal?
  8. He may be getting hit, but I like seeing the K's out of Wells.
  9. Arguello is there and says Candelario is in great shape. Man, its awesome to have this back......
  10. Tony Cingrani(solid LHP prospect for Reds) is perfect thru 5. With 13K's.
  11. Saunders doubles home DeVoss, steals third, scores on a Javy sac fly.
  12. Bengals will take OT Menelik Watson.
  13. We're going to like Schierholtz a lot. Same with Fuji. Great pickups this offseason.
  14. If Brown or Ogletree isn't the direction we go, I'd just play DJ in the middle and go after the spot again next year. The distraction Te'o brings outweighs his talent, in my mind. I don't really want to spend a 1st on a MLB to begin with.
  15. Yeah, if Baez learns any patience at all, he'll move quick. By the way, there's a Jason Parks chat at BP this morning. 11EST. Get your questions in, its evidently going to be a marathon.
  16. Beeler, Wells, and Johnson named Opening Day starters. Iowa hasn't said yet.
  17. It's at least possible he takes a step forward this year.
  18. I don't care if we're 10 games OVER .500, if we're 7 out of the last playoff spot, we better be selling. You think there are going to be 4 teams(assuming one of the other division leaders isn't ahead of both wild cards) 24 games over 500 on July 31st? The point is if you're 7 out, you sell. Record be damned. What if we're 2 out and under 500? If thats the case, I'm buying lightly or buying heavy if longterm guys are available.

  21. The issue here though is with the addition of a 2nd WC, more teams stay in the race. Making it harder to find things that you CAN buy. Obviously things can change, but I see no one in the AL East as sellers. Just the Twins in the Central. The Astros, maybe the Mariners, in the West. NL East-Marlins, probably the Mets. Our division? If anyone(other than us) its the Brewers or Pirates. And the West has the Rockies, maybe the Pads.....If you look at the rosters of those teams, its not pretty. Basically zero pitching worth a [expletive] will be available and my guess is Headley is far and away the best position player out therr.
  22. I can see both selling and buying going on, which would be fun. Soriano, DeJesus, Marmol, maybe Garza could be gone. But if a few guys with multiple years of control become available, I could see us adding at the same time. Part of me thinks we'll be closer to the division lead than a WC spot though. Nats, Braves, Giants, and Dodgers could all have better records than anyone in our division by the end of July.
  23. Took him out in the 7th finally.
  24. Yeah, no kidding. Its on here somewhere. At any rate, when DeJesus and Soriano get dealt, Sweeney will get some major league time. Hell, Bogusevic might as well, especially if those two are gone and we have an injury.
