  1. Krukow and Kuiper love Wrigley. They both agreed they never think about playing anymore, but if they did, it'd be one last inning at Wrigley.
  2. So, weighing it out-Baez, with his "I'll do WTF I want" or Soler with his Serrano impersonation "bring that [expletive] to me, man"? Close call honestly.....
  3. Well yeah. I definitely want to hear more on it and I'm sure we will. But I can't imagine a scenario where Soler comes off as being justified.
  4. holy [expletive] WTF? Seriously?
  5. Brett and Vogelbach have a walk today as well. Candelario had 3. Kyle thwarted on this one for a few days at least.
  6. So, a goat's head was mailed to Wrigley today......
  7. Dorris is an upper 80's velo guy, isn't he? I know AZPhil was impressed with him and called him a guy that could move quickly. But is it strictly because he's a polished lefty?
  8. Catchers typically go higher than they should quite often, due to scarcity. I'll be surprised if Okey or Ciuffo are around. Martinez seems 50/50 in my mind as to whether he'll even be there. Brian Navarreto is my guess at who we take, if we go C, in the 2nd. I'm sure they've got a good grasp on him anyway, he was a teammate of Javy's.
  9. And then write it off You don't even know what a write-off is. But they do. And they're the ones writing it off!
  10. Torrez is on the limited activity list. No clue what thats about obviously. Little surprised Rodriguez isn't in Arizona already too. As far as Rondon goes, I wonder if starting has been taken completely off the table for him at this point?
  11. Yeah, Warmack and Brown would make me insanely happy.
  12. So, I guess an IFA draft is well on its way. We now have 4 slot values attached to our IFA money. At 2, its 2.873,000. At 32, its 462,300. At 62, its 312,200. And at 92, its 209,700. We(every other team as well) also has 700,000 to spend thats not included in these allotments. Badler will have more on how IFA money can be dealt, at a later time. My guess is AZPhil was correct, just the amounts aren't equal.
  13. You can tell he's inexperienced, but he belongs on a major league roster. I definitely could see him as a longterm setup guy for us. Hell, maybe even by the middle of this year. At any rate, I like him.
  14. I agree with Parks-Baez will be a top 5 guy next year. I think Soler is 15-20ish. Almora 25-30ish, and whether its Appel or Gray, they're top 30 as well.
  15. Watkins is playing SS tonight. Audition for a utility role very soon?
  16. Bears signed DE Kyle Moore. He's 26, had 3 sacks last year and played for Buffalo. Good depth, creates competition anyway. Nail in the coffin on Idonije not returning?
  17. They have Garrett Richards, they won't be looking for a SP right now.
  18. The Marlins and White Sox are the most obvious. The Rays can't sign a player worth more than $250,000 from July 2013 - June 2014, so they might be a good trade match. It'd be great if the Marlins, after selling a rebuild, didn't spen their IFA money. I suspect Hahn will begin to spend more though.
  19. By the way, does anyone have a list of how much teams had been spending in recent years? Which teams typically don't spend in IFA? Obviously, they'd be targets for us to try and up our budget.
  20. I had been under the impression that we were going to have 100k increments separating each team. This is better. I'd love to find a way to add money though. If we pay Telles over 2 mill, it makes it really hard to outbid teams, if we want Perez or Ho, for instance.
  21. Bengals will take G/C Travis Frederick.
  22. Well, prepare to be disappointed in not being able to moan on this one. Unless you're going to expect Baez to all of a sudden develop into a walk machine. The rest will be just fine. As will Javy, just not going to be a walk machine. I suspect he'll be in the 5% range and likely stay there.
  23. Of course it's worth bringing up. There's a whole continuum between "meaningless" and "completely predictive of underlying talent." After this many games, I'd put it under "worth noting and coming back to later." You're 4 or 5 games into a season. Bring it up after 20. Right now, it just shows signs of something else you're itching to bitch about and blame the FO for.
  24. Yeah, kind of like it's not worth bringing up yet, huh?
