  1. I can't see how this is the case, seeing as how one guy is hitting at AAA and the other is not. Because Vitters can't field worth a [expletive]. He has no position. Because Vitters looks completely overmatched when facing major league pitching. He's injury prone. And he has average makeup at the very best. AAAA player.
  2. I was higher on Brett than most. I'm OK with giving completely up on him now. That said, I do think its even money as to whether he has a better ML career than Vitters. Vitters and Cabrera were voted in waaaaay too early, in my opinion. Same with Dunston.
  3. Javy K'd, but just missed a HR on a foul down the LF line.
  4. I'm almost positive we all laughed when he first posted. I think we all assume its a joke account.
  5. Hultzen is missing all of 2014 after shoulder surgery. He's a throw in basically. And Seattle is basically stuck trying to rehab him and build some semblance of value back. TT, you're right though-If anyone were to make that type of trade, it'd be Jack Z. Victor Sanchez would be my preferred 2nd piece(that's realistic anyway). But their handling of him has been pitiful too, since he's 19 and in AA. Without the crazy stuff a 19 year old already in AA should have. If Shark can come close to continuing his current pace though-If it were me, I wouldn't settle for anything less than a top 40ish pitching prospect(with TOR potential)a top 100 pitching prospect, a borderline top 100 hitter(preferably a C) and a top 10 org guy as well. Or the equivalent in young major league talent. If no one is willing to offer that, then just bite the bullet and re-sign him.
  6. Javy may be activated tomorrow.
  7. Donald would be my pick here.
  8. The royals are very, very high on Mondesi. I doubt you can get him in a package for shark. Their pitching is a strength. Yeah, I know. It's that or nothing for me from them because I'm not a Zimmer fan. Toronto, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and the Mets are my favorite options.
  9. I honestly want no part of Zimmer. He's being held back in EXST until mid to late May. He had biceps tendonitis last year that shut him down early. He started throwing again in December and it came back. They say there's no structural damage and are taking it slow with him. But it's more than enough to make me very wary of him. From KC? Give me Almonte, Duffy, and Mondesi. Otherwise, I'll take an offer from somewhere else.
  10. Timmy from South Park looks as good as Vitters against major league pitching.
  11. Sure, I'd be fine with it. But with Paxton looking as good as he has in the majors, I can't see Seattle dealing him. Same with KC and Ventura. Unless a guy struggles at the outset in the majors, I guess I just doubt he gets dealt in today's game. Years of control, salary, etc.
  12. You realize Joe Ricketts isn't even a sports fan, right? If you think he gives a flying [expletive] what people think of his name, you're dead wrong. He cares about his bottom line. As do the vast majority of major sports franchise owners.
  13. I didn't include them because of Walker's shoulder issues. I'm not sure they have the pieces without him.
  14. Same chance as Ben Wallace making the HOF. Come on dawg. Its an honest question. I honestly didn't know that. Without looking too deeply into things, if we were projected for 72 wins and Baez put up a 12 WAR season, we'd likely be an 85-86 win team once you add another win or 2 for good Castro over Barney/Bonifacio.
  15. Who realistically has the pieces, the need, and the ability to sign him long term? I've got Toronto, Baltimore, Kansas City, Texas(doubt they deal for another one from us though)Mets, and San Francisco. With Pittsburgh and San Diego as teams that could look at him as a year and a half rental.
  16. Same chance as Ben Wallace making the HOF.
  17. I think we are intrigued, but he's going to have to hit at every level. Playing a corner, there's no room for error. Especially for a guy without a truly loud skill set.
  18. I'm really interested to start hearing bonus demands.
  19. I lost respect for Neyer when he mentioned Yellon in his leaving SportsNation speech. Seriously, Yellon [expletive] sucks.
  20. You stole that from sneaky I thought I stole it off Twitter. Damnit. Anyway, I liked the comp.
  21. I'm calling it: Hendricks will be our version of Doug Fister.
  22. He thinks he'll get another shot as a starter at some point. He.could take Shark's route, I guess. That said, his FB amps up quite a bit in short stints(fairly normal) and he's got a plus curve. His change is what will dictate his future. If its on(not that often) it's above average to plus. Which gives him a mid rotation ceiling as a starter. But, needing only 2 pitches coming out of the pen, seems to fit him very well. As he's got back end of the pen type stuff.
  23. What do we make of the fact that Sanchez is really bad at throwing strikes, and at his highest two levels has a sub-8 K/9? He's a fine prospect but all indications are that he'll be valued like he's an elite prospect that's actually gotten hitters out, which I don't really have much interest in. Honestly, I like Stroman more myself. But lots say that Sanchez hasn't tapped fully into his potential yet either. Is it his release point? I'm not remembering right now what it is that supposedly needs a bit of cleaning up. That said, it doesn't look like Arizona is going to be buying. They look awful. So my hopes of KT throwing Bradley our way has already basically evaporated. Taillon is already hurt. KC maybe? Seems like Ventura has too much buzz for them to trade him and Zimmer has more warts than either of Sanchez or Stroman to me. Would the Mets part with Syndergaard and Montero? Seems unlikely to me anyway. Who else is left? That has legit pitching prospects? I mean, we COULD trade for hitting, but we HAVE to acquire some young pitching at some point soon.
  24. Macier Izturis may miss the rest of the season. Levine has mentioned he could see a trade this month happening. Cubs appear to want at least Sanchez, Stroman, and Jimenez(fairly solid C prospect) for Shark and Barney. Personally, if that offer was on the table and its clear an extension isn't happening, I'd pull the trigger. Can't see much more than that being out there.
