At any rate, there's writeups on a few of these guys we've not heard anything at all about that have evidently defected(are on Sanchez' list) and it gives at least some semblance of what they've got(or not, depending on the translations)

    By the way, really getting optimistic about coming out of this Cuban market with a solid(not Dodgeresque) showing. We'll be able to put some or most of the money on to the following calendar years payroll easily now.

    By the way, Mendy was put on the inactive list for Iowa today. Guess they're ready to let him forget this season and get him ready for winter ball.

    Utley evidently has an 11 mill club option for next year. That becomes somewhat interesting, in my mind. If the Phillies would kick in for some anyway. May be their best bet to get something of use for him, at least.

    22 walks in his last 64.2 innings for Pierce. I'm ready to see him and Edwards in the pen in September. With either of them having a possibility of being a multi inning reliever for us in the postseason(stolen from Raisin on Twitter)

    Last night, a fan criticized him for the wild pitch as a response to Miggy's celebratory tweet. Miggy actually apologized for it to the guy, then the [expletive] went into trying to tell Miggy how to block the plate. [expletive] idiots.

    I want the Giants to lose. But I'm not even of the notion we need Utley. Plus, I think he's going to hold things up if he's not an everyday player, according to MLBTR. And I don't think he is for us. I think I lean towards pulling for the Pirates tonight, but don't care a lot either way.

    These guys are making it very hard to evaluate. Contreras has obviously done enough to put him inside our top 10. How high though, I've got no true feel honestly. Plus, he's played damn near as well as possible. I guess end of year reports dictate how high I'll put him. Almora? Obviously, the hope is he's figured it out and is clicking now. It'll take a very solid finish for me to give him credit for anything more than a hot streak. He was outside of my top 10, just 2 weeks ago by a decent amount. Candelario was just putting along in MB, gets a promotion that was arguably more necessity, than merit, then starts raking immediately....He's the hardest of this group to figure, in my opinion. He's sputtered for quite a while and it'll take me a while to forget that. But damn, he's been awesome....

    How likely is it that Maddon had to play Castro until after the trade deadline for the sake of not torpedoing his trade value? Once past the break Castro is on a relatively hot streak, but as it starts to wear off Maddon says, forget it, Russell to SS. Does he have to get Theo's permission to bench Castro pre-trade deadline? I doubt he'd need "permission", but could Theo have said, "hey, if Castro plays well in July, it may help net us a TOR SP". Or something else that may have given Joe an incentive to play him. They obviously were trying to move him, seems like one of those situations Joe and Theo have talked about as far as trying to stay on the same page.

Some players have become eligible to sign & others are in different points in the process since EJM became eligible @JesseSanchezMLB: Eddy Martinez is still considered a top prospect. He now has competition & clubs are evaluating as many players as possible before deciding.

    I'd definitely roster Vogelbach and Johnson. Contreras too, if he needs it. Not worried about Candelario sticking with a team all season. Black or Paniagua could sneak thru a season on a roster, I guess. Not concerned if we lose those types though.
