  1. Alcantara is not in the lineup either.....This would be a golf clap worthy troll job if SOMETHING isn't going on.
  2. Almora and Olt aren't in the lineup tonight. Only minor leaguers I've seen not starting that normally do. I guess that'd get Kennedy....
  3. Good, it weakens Milwaukee and takes out a suitor for Ross or any of the other controllable arms as well.
  4. I'm hoping for 1 of Ross/Teheran/Carrasco/Odorizzi or some other controllable guy. Based on some stuff, it seems Texas has a fairly high price tag on Gallardo, so I doubt he's our rental. If we take the rental route, my guess is Leake or Kennedy. I go back and forth every 15 minutes or so on whether I think we'll do something relatively major though, as I'm sure others are too.
  5. and Peraza would have been on a 7/~40 deal every single baseball pitcher on Earth is a ticking time bomb from an injury perspective... 1) That should tell you they value Olivera quite a bit more than that then, right? 2) Just because WE look at all pitchers that way doesn't mean all teams do the same.
  6. It's a truly shitty trade, no questions about that. My guess as to the Braves reasoning? Wood seems to be a ticking time bomb from an injury perspective. But mainly, they bid as aggressively as they could on Olivera themselves(4/40 and would have went higher supposedly) The Dodgers paying the signing bonus(28 mill) gives them Olivera at 5/32.5 or so. That obviously appeals to them.(good luck with an off-injured 30 year old) At any rate, no clue how much trade value 28 mill has by Dave Cameron's [expletive], but it's probably the major part of the deal for the Braves.
  7. Going to really suck when the Dodgers get them both. I think there's a legit chance of it, which is just [expletive] sad.
  8. From what I've read today, it seems like they were just testing his value, with no intent to actually trade him.
  9. The Dodgers appear to be trading them Hector Olivera. Damn near the equivalent of a sign and trade, since he's yet to play in the majors and hurt himself twice since being signed as it is. They gave him a 28 mill signing bonus, which I'm assuming they're eating. He got 62.5 over 6 to begin with. Why in the [expletive] can't we have our own Mark Walter?
  10. Well, no one thinks Wood will stay healthy over the long haul. But there's definitely much more coming back in a deal like this.
  11. LOL, Dodgers also getting Jose Peraza. Meanwhile the Astros are making strides with the Padres. While the only guy we've been connected to tonight so far is Kennedy.
  12. Wow. So Morse and the comp pick are heading to Atlanta. Wood, Latos, and Jim Johnson to the Dodgers.
  13. This appears to be a major trade, as they're getting a young SP that's heading straight to the Dodgers rotation.......Miller, Wood, or Teheran?
  14. I'd be more worried about not being able to land Heyward if they FO forced their own hand to also shop for the most expensive pitcher on the market at the same time. They're not getting Heyward AND a nine figure SP.
  15. I'd rather get a Ross/Teheran/Carrasco now and still have the large contract to give to Heyward or spread it around to a few guys like Kendrick, a CF of some sort and a mid tier SP like Gallardo or something.
  16. LOL, I honestly think we're out(or very close to it on him). The allure of Price and other younger FA next year being my main reason.
  17. The contract situations are completely different and neither will throw the others market off so much. The Dodgers go from Hamels to Price. The Giants have a [expletive] farm system, who's left that the Rangers are truly bidding against now? Just the Astros, a team Hamels has this far, said he wouldn't waive his NTC for.
  18. @Sullivan_Ranger: Rangers and Phillies are nowhere close on what Texas would give up to get Hamels in a trade. Rangers aren't budging on top farm prospects It's not going to surprise me in the least if Hamels is an Astro by Friday afternoon.
  19. Eh, maybe so. Can't remember if it's just been them selling off comp picks in deals like that. Probably so though. The fact this is now evidently a 3 team trade makes this extremely interesting. Comp picks can only be dealt one time, so it's conceivable that it just becomes part of a package for an impact SP for the Dodgers.
  20. Nah, they've been expected to get 2 starters. Everyone seems to think Hamels winds up in Texas though. It needs to be mentioned how [expletive] broke this CBA is though. The poor Marlins selling off the 34th pick to the Dodgers is just pathetic. Basically to get them to take the Morse contract.
  21. Why in all of blue [expletive] is Gordo breaking a Dodgers/Marlins trade?
