  1. Clayton Richard (5.154) – $1.1MM Chris Coghlan (5.148) – $3.9MM Jonathan Herrera (5.101) – $1.3MM Travis Wood (5.004) – $6.4MM Pedro Strop (4.156) – $4.7MM Jake Arrieta (4.145) – $10.9MM Jacob Turner (3.033) – $1.0MM Hector Rondon (3.000) – $3.6MM Justin Grimm (2.170) – $1.0MM Herrera seems like the only non tender to me.
  2. Contreras seems like a prototypical late blooming C. I think I feel comfortable with him moving forward, especially with the BB/K%'s.
  3. Is Contreras top 10?
  4. So we pick 28th. Which certainly shows how great of a season we've had. But it pisses me off that we pick behind teams that are playing in divisional series immediately. I'm fine with the WC game, but I think that division winners with worse records should pick behind all WC teams.
  5. Those are last years numbers. Which in the end, isn't surprising. I'm thinking McKinney is a lock and Almora's late push won't be enough to get him on it.(I honestly like Almora more personally as a guy that winds up contributing for the Cubs) As for Tseng, I have to wonder when the polish versus lack of plus stuff finally gets him(if it does). He's got a back end profile for sure. As does Blackburn, but I'd say there's at least a bit of hope still that Blackburn could project as a bit more.
  6. Well, the 5 HR's were certainly in less than a seasons worth of AB's obviously. He's got more of a line drive stroke, so I doubt the power takes off past the 15-20 range. The D has gone from "doubt he sticks at 3B longterm" to "he's sticking and he's above average there". Which is a nice feather in his cap. He's moved at an above average rate for a guy at his age level, even with the hiccup last season. He's obviously trade bait for us, we don't have a starting spot for him, if he winds up being thought of in that way. I'm hoping he did well enough this season(especially in AA) that he's increased his stock to be a nice 2nd/3rd piece in a major deal or as a lead piece that nets us a good reliever. My hope is he's dealt in the offseason. Same with Vogelbach.
  7. Two things I learned today: 1) Seth Myers is a Pirates fan 2) Seth Myers actually seems like a well informed baseball fan. 1) Sucks 2) Is pretty cool at least
  8. My Monday flew by and I was completely unproductive. Exact same. Guys, this is what we've asked for. A great team, that is fun as all [expletive], and that has [expletive] swag forever. Embrace it.
  9. [tweet] [/tweet] Yeessssssssss Jake. God damn we are [expletive] awesome.
  10. I honestly think he's had fun covering them this year and that's the reason his columns have took a turn. Seriously, there's nothing to be negative about with this group.
  11. Do not pass go.
  12. Those opt outs are important as [expletive] now.
  13. Did it mistakenly get posted for a bit or something?
  14. Were we the ones who kind of started that? I know there were President of Baseball Ops guys before, but were they the first team that truly used it as a GM name upgrade?
  15. We're about to go 1983 NC State all over everyone's asses. Maddon is going to be running around frantically trying to find someone to hug here in a month or so.
  16. I'm with Gooney. Not worried, but getting excited.
  17. 6-1. KB, Rizzo, and Schwarber each with a 2 run homer. CG for Jake.
  18. By the way, I'm basing that comment off an assumption on my part that a home game at Wrigley for the 1 game playoff is more than it'd be in Pittsburgh. The teams split it evenly, after half of it gets taken by MLB off the top for the player pool.
  19. ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that's a stretch. If its the only home game we get, it's not going to help a ton obviously. But a long postseason run will help out a fair amount. I actually believe Ricketts when he said payroll wasn't set yet and I'd bet that this is why.
  20. You want home field because its extra revenue that helps payroll out a bit. Also, Dan Haren wound up being a quality pick up.
  21. Kershaw gets to 300K's. First since 2002. The A's finish the year without getting rained out or even being in a rain delay.
