  1. Its hard enough to try and be OK with this. horsefeathers.
  2. I really want us to add a SP at this point. We're not likely to trade Eloy AND Happ, in my eyes, but who knows, I guess? If anything, my head tells me neither of them are going anywhere. Of course, that would mean no Archer type addition. But we could add a pretty interesting youngster, depending on what we give up. I don't see Schwarber or Javy going anywhere. To me, they're even safer than Eloy or Happ. If we hold on to that group of 4, what does it leave and how would you rank them, in order of value? 1. Almora- I don't see us trading him either, but if we plan on keeping Dex or moving Heyward to CF next year, he's the best chip we've got, in my mind. 2. Soler- Easy to trade, but how low would we be selling? If his legit value is a year and a half of Eovaldi, is it worth it to move him? I'm not even a fan, but I'd have a hard time with a deal like that. 3. Candelario- On his own, my guess is he's got slightly more value than Vogelbach did. He's blocked, so I'd say he's probably the single safest bet to move at this point. 4. Zagunis- Again, I'd say he's in Vogelbach territory value-wise. 5. Caratini- Dead horse here, but around Vogelbach value, on his own. I would include Cease here, he'd be 3rd, behind Almora and Soler, for me. But considering his value is diminished by what level he's at and the fact that he could become very relevant with a handful of A Ball starts, I'll leave him off, thinking we'd wait until he's got more value than he does currently, before cashing in...... Wild Cards- Szczur- Personally, I think he's a Reed Johnson type and that has value. But I'd doubt he's got any trade value. So I see him sticking around. Seal Boy- I guess I'd put him in Candelario territory value-wise? He's a nice lefty bench guy that's a solid spot starter, on occasion. Not sure if Sharma knew we were trying to deal him a bit ago or what, but it seemed like it. So, while he's got options and is a solid enough backup, I guess he's a guy I could see move! Grimm- No, I don't THINK he's going anywhere. But our pen is full, he's pitching well again and I guess its conceivable we could capitalize, with CJ looking good. Anyway, don't even know exactly why I did this......But I'd have to think we're still looking at impact moves and not just depth, as I think I saw quoted from Theo earlier today. Can a package of Soler/Candelario/Grimm, for instance, bring back a Paxton type?(just an example) Or is it more likely we'll trade Eloy or Happ at this stage? Anyway, my complete and total guess is we add a depth SP(Buccholz maybe) and a Reddick type OFer. Maybe Beltran even. But I'd love to see a bigger and longer impact type added. I'm just unsure if we've got the ability to do it without it really hurting. As "all in" as the Chapman move is, do you actually see us moving Eloy/Happ/Almora? Or Schwarber/Javy even? Or does the above package I mentioned get us something relatively decent?
  3. well that should be easy to do. Oh, I'm not thinking we can get one.
  4. We flat out need an elite starter. We lack one now.
  5. Jason Heyward, the Clayton Richard of hitting.
  6. There's literally no scenario where that post wasn't idiotic.
  7. Gooney's Hill/Reddick for Soler idea needs more attention now.
  8. Holy horsefeathers. You say some stupid ass horsefeathers. But this is the topper.
  9. I think that the price we're paying here will actually help insure guys like Miller and Davis stay put. Teams asking prices are already high, they'll become astronomical now. If this is the price for a guy who's giving you 30 innings, what's it going to be for an elite SP now? From this perspective, I think we've played a fairly good game of Keep Away. Because the selling teams will hold onto guys if the return isn't in line with this one.
  10. McKinney has lost a decent amount of value this year. Evidently put on some bad weight. He definitely didn't have the ability to ever headline a deal of any magnitude. But he likely winds up regaining some value next year and turning into a second division starter or solid 4th OFer type.
  11. [tweet] [/tweet] Thank God the Yankees are idiots, at least.
  12. A 4 for 1 would be vomit inducing.
  13. My suspicion is Hank isn't going to OK it.
  14. I'll feel at least slightly better if we get some other stuff out of this. I still wonder if this will include MIller. It'd make a lot more sense with some of the names being thrown around. Surely not. But holy horsefeathers, it'd make this a lot more palatable.

  16. I feel horrible about some of the stuff she has to take on Twitter. No one should have to put up with that. But I don't think she does much past piggyback others info, when it comes to breaking stuff.
  17. Within minutes of DiCaro mentioning its still a possibility. 3-2-1 before another source of hers confirms he's not. She didn't say it was still a possibility. She said there were conflicting reports. Eh, I don't remember seeing another one with Soler attached, other than hers to begin with.

  20. Sharma used Rondong on Twitter earlier......How has that escaped here?
  21. I hate that THIS is what we're doing. But I trust Theo knows what the market is for everything. His job IS to win. He's looking at Chapman maybe pitching against us in the playoffs and us spending even heavier on something else that could gut us. Chapman is a shitbag-I can't stand him. But he is an impact guy and my guess is Theo knows how hard it is to grab something else of impact and begrudgingly figures this makes the most baseball sense. But horsefeathers Chapman, I hope Lackey yells at him.
  22. If so, we'll be getting something else too.
  23. I don't like "multiple" If we're trading for this fuckstick, I hope we're getting something else in the deal too. So, if we're sending multiple guys, it gives me a bit of hope.
