  1. I think you have an extra syllable in line 2 Kos-kays in-ter-pre-ter sucked. 7 syllables
  2. The awards were announced in my hometown of Skokie... I wonder where
  3. Awful translations Kosuke's interpreter sucked Gutless choking dog
  4. 89 Division champs shirt today
  5. Care to explain this? I was a big fan of Hermida, but he took a step backward last year. Do you just happen to think it was a fluke because he's still so young, or is there something I'm missing?
  6. Is he really going to be platooning for the entire year?
  7. I think you may be overstating Wood's (or any player's) affect off the baseball field on the team's performance. What teams did you play for in the majors? I'm assuming you disagree with him and therefore I ask you what teams you played for I've never played in the major leagues. That's why I find it so difficult to judge whether a player's leadership/personality off the field has little to no effect on team performance. So you disagree with both 5412 and Wade? I don't disagree that Wood is a leader of the team. Numerous players have said as much. I do disagree with any definitive statements regarding how much of an impact his leadership/any player's leadership will have on how a team performs if you've never been in that environment before. We just don't know. Exactly. Nothing is definitive. That being said, GMs would be best served to spend their money on factors that ARE defined, like on-the-field performance, rather than factors that may or may not make a team better.
  8. I don't think it's Furcal. Anyone else think Hendry is satisfied with Theriot?
  9. 6865. Can't wait to get them!
  10. Can we please stop with the Gaetti comparisons? They both were ex-Cardinals who had good ABs after a midseason trade to the Cubs. That's where the similarities end. Gaetti had half of the at-bats Edmonds had this year, and therefore a smaller sample size. Gaetti was never as good as Edmonds in his career -- Edmonds was hitting close to his career averages with the Cubs (unlikely he'll repeat, but still). Edmonds stopped taking a medication after leaving the Padres which some say had to do with his improvement at the plate. They're different situations. Please, just stop.
  11. Same thing the Dodgers are doing with Pierre and the Angels are doing with GMJ. Accept you made a mistake and pick your spots. Do you really think this is a comparable situation as Pierre and GMJ? Kosuke is not a 5 year MLB veteran. He's a rookie who had an exceptional track record at a lower level. By your logic, we should trade Pie for nothing too. He's a guy who tore the cover off of the ball at AAA and plays great defense, but has sucked at the major league level. Move him to CF, sign a RF that hits like one and let it be. You can resign Johnson and just make him the everyday starter or platoon him with Kosuke or Pie if Kosuke is struggling. Or you could just trade him in the middle of the season... his value won't be much lower than it is now.
  12. What's your point, man? We all agree that he was an amazing player in Japan, but he's sucked this year. We have two options 1. Trade him now, while his value is very low 2. See if he improves next year You don't need to prove that he's sucked anymore, but you cannot prove that he will not improve. What are you suggesting the Cubs do?
  13. I don't know. I think Alfonso does a lot of damage on mistake pitches. I think if pitchers really bore down in every regular season game and did nothing but pitch off the lower outside corner, Sori would in trouble. If that were the case, he wouldn't have excellent career numbers against some very good pitchers, inc. CC.
  14. Good post. But would you care to explain this? Dempster had a career year and I obviously don't expect him to repeat it, but how do you figure that he and Marshall will perform the same next year?
  15. YES, THAT'S FROM DEROSA'S BLOG LAST SEASON.
  16. "This is apparently one of the few times Dodger fans will stay for the full 9 innings" -Rare bitter jab by Pat.
  17. Come on... we're too good for this. We're too good for our season to end like this. Come on guys! LET'S DO THIS!
