  1. That's not fair... Zook has more salary to pay his players.
  2. He's missed both Falcons games. The average person in ESPN's pick em is 17 and 14, and those 14 includes games they didn't pick at all. There have been some very stupid lines (Eagles favored against the Saints?). I'm 19-9 (don't pick Bears games, didn't pick the first game) I'm 26-5 right now. Soon to be 27-5 once Indy wins tonight. 13-2 so far this week. (But who's counting?) :D
  3. I'm trying to get tickets for the game on Sunday (I went yesterday and want to get the bad taste out of my mouth). I've always been given Bears tickets... does anyone have good advice on getting tickets on gameday? Are there usually a lot of scalpers outside Soldier Field?
  4. Haha that's where the similarities end.
  5. My buddy just called me. His uncle who lives in GB just scored us 2 tickets to the Bears-Packers game on Sept. 13. I've never been to Lambeau before and between that and the prospect of being there for Cutler's first game, I'm too excited to sleep.
  6. Not picking on you, but why does everyone on this board assume we can sign the guy to a 1-year deal? He's stayed healthy all season and has been absolutely dominant in the second half. He's going to get some 2- and 3-year offers from teams in the offseason. Hence why you offer him arbitration. If he wants a long term deal, he'll walk away and the Cubs will get two draft picks. Ah sorry, I didn't see that he mentioned arby. Anyway, I'd consider offering him more than 1 year if it was an incentive-laden deal.

  8. I just can't believe this team isn't making the playoffs. This season sucks.
  9. He's Pat Kane, he shouldn't have to tip. Hell that cabbie shouldn't have even charged him for the privledge of having him in his taxi. As I said before, there's an earlier report that said the fare was $13.80 and he gave $15. He asked for 20 cents back. That would imply that he did tip. They were probably drunk and being annoying, and when the cabbie refused to give them 20 cents back, they got belligerent, punched him, and took their money back. Yes, it's a pretty awful thing to do, but it's not some ridiculously heinous act. Settle with the cabbie, the DA will probably drop the charges, and get back to hockey.
  10. I think the fare was $13.80, and they gave him $15 and wanted 20 cents back, which he didn't have. Then they got mad, punched him, and took the $15 back.
  11. Does Hawk always say "YES!" twice after "You can put it on the board?"
  12. There's one on Clark and Fullerton, apparently.
  13. "... oh no" "awww man" "Deep to left. That's gone"
  14. Was there an obvious injury to Aram or was he just taken out of the game?
  15. About a billion percent. Interesting move by Lou.. What'd he do? Gamecast sucks
  16. What happened? No TV or radio for now (yeah, i know)
  17. Nice article, but Soriano isn't really a "liability" on defense. He still has a very efficient arm and holds runners.
  18. just for comparison Dunn is hitting 25 points higher 18 more HR's 43 more RBI's 196 OPS points higher and 25 obp points higher than our prized off season piece of crap I knew it was bad, but 25 AVG points (it's DUNN) and 18 HR? Wow.
  19. The trophies or the players? :D
  20. Why would a Sox fan work at Wrigley? Decent pay for a part time job. Already dislikes the cubs so it doesn't bother them that in most positions you don't get to watch the game anyway. They don't hold a childish disdain for a team that really has nothing to do with their team of choice whatsoever. There's probably a number of reasons. Ah ok. You kind of made it sound like they did in your above post. Like they're really obnoxious Cub-haters or something.
  21. Wow, all of those kids and no parents... Are you sure the farm wasn't a... ranch? Did he give them "Jesus Juice" too?
