  1. http://www.projo.com/redsox/content/sp_bb_sean_mcadam31_07-31-08_UPB21FT_v17.41212cd.html The article mentions them probably getting Grabow right before this...so i'm not sure if they want both or only one.

  4. Can anyone tell me what time the deadline is in Chicago time tommorrow?
  5. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=3511509&name=mlb_trade_deadline Sounds like we're doing the right thing, and will probably give them a take it or leave it offer. For those who missed this on the bottom of the last page.
  6. I've been waiting for a team to dump Colvin off on...since Seattle seems to want a CF'er i'd do Colvin and Hart if they would. Which they won't.
  7. UPDATE http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=3511509&name=mlb_trade_deadline Sounds like we're doing the right thing, and will probably give them a take it or leave it offer.
  8. Minor correction: An NL Source reported that two teams are interested in Dunn. Not Two NL teams are interested in Dunn. So, it may be AL teams too.

  10. As I just posted in the other thread, Kotsay wouldn't be a bad choice for an Edmonds insuance policy. He has an .800+ OPS vs. righties this year and is certainly available.
  11. How about Mark Kotsay for Edmonds insurance? Everyone says he's available over the last few days and he has an .800+ OPS versus righties.
  12. The fact that they haven't really looked at long-term answers leads me to believe they haven't given up on Pie completely yet. If they got a long-term guy, they'd have to give up on Felix. You could use Pie to keep the other player cost down though. Definitely. I'm not sure I've seen an outfielder I'm willing to give Pie up for, though. Definitely not DeJesus. Maybe McLouth - though would Pittsburgh give him to us without absolutely scalping us? I'm not a fan of trying to acquire players when their values are at all-time highs, as in McClouth's case.
  13. And if he is going to be a type A, you almost have to make it IMO. Give up two "solid" prospects as MLBTR says the M' want, and get back some of >= value next season.
  14. I do. Unless we want to hope Jim Edmonds will: 1) Stay Healthy 2) Stay Great And taking off my Cubs tinted sunglasses for a moment, neither are very likely. As said before, there's no way a 120+ OPS hitter won't help this team, especially in the depth and insurance category. Obviously, it all depends on the price though.
  15. I'm down. I think the bigger news is that we're considering Kosuke close to full-time in center, in which I would wish we'd hear about some interest in other corner outfielders like Dunn. Will Ibanez fetch us draft picks if we were to let him walk after the season?
  16. Lou will take it easy on Samardijia once "Shark Week" is over on the Discovery Channel.
  17. Ugh..why does MILB's Boise box scores always have to be delayed...I want to see how Cashner did.
  18. Damnit, why can't my dreams become reality?
  19. Didn't Fonty play a respectable shortstop when we first called him up or am I dreaming? I know he definitely has limited range there, but if he can make the routine plays I wouldn't have a problem plugging him in there once every couple weeks.
  20. http://ww3.startribune.com/blogs/christensen/2008/07/29/tuesday-afternoon-update-hawkins-everett/ Anything that would realistically help us?
  21. Man, it is getting a little insane. Don't know if it was mentioned, but FoxSports has an quote from a scout saying his fastball is "Gossage like" with the late movement and all.
