  1. Still hoping for my best case scenario of Cechini or Pederson, regardless of the pitching included
  2. The Cotillo kid says he's heard Luke Jackson. Piecing everything together, it sounds like the deal we've mentioned a few times might be right: Olt Edwards Jackson Not the best, not the worst. Obviously hinges on Olt, who ironically is batting 8th against Iowa tonight with 2 K's and a BB. Could look alot better if we could swap Olt for Feliz or something.
  3. Edwards is actually in normal A ball, not low A (nitpicking). AKA our Kane County. Yeah he's maybe a tad old at 21, but I mean most of us are high on Pierce Johnson and he was 22 in Kane County this year until the recent call up. Pretty age appropriate actually considering he's probably going to be in A+ before the years over.
  4. Not going to pretend to know anything about CJ Edwards stuff, but his numbers are filthy. Edwards is an athletic arm that has hit mid-90's and, IIRC, shown some potential with his breaking ball. Obviously, Low A numbers need to be taken with a grain of salt, but he is an intriguing arm. ______ If we can get Jackson/Edwards from the Rangers, I think I'll be pleased. Two high upside arms for a half-season of Garza is a solid return, even if they are far away. Thanks. I was thinking it was high A for some reason.
  5. Yelich robbed Alcantara on a line drive to center that would have been a single. Baez got the count to 2-2, but struck out on a slider out of the zone, after taking a slider out of the zone the pitch before
  6. According to another board, Levine mentioned Valbuena (not Lake) possibly going with Garza to Cleveland like some others mentioned as a possibility.

  8. Could be legit based on followers and who's following him. Does some work for ESPN apparently.
  9. I guess i'll trust our (and everyone elses) scouts, but didn't we conclude that this guy put up worse numbers at 25-26 in the same league as Concepcion?
  10. Paniagua gives up a single, then gets a strikeout, walk, infield fly, and strikeout to end the 1st. Almora singles up the middle off of Chris Anderson (1st rounder this year).
  11. I"ll watch the KC game and throw in some updates on JCP. Edit: it's apparently not being broadcasted. crap.
  12. Baker didn't throw a ton of offspeed, and the big 2 run homer he gave up was on a get me over 3-0 fastball if that makes anyone feel better.
  13. The Cubs lead the NL in XBH...
  14. Baker 88 early in the 1st, up to 91 with the last few. Mostly fastballs.
  15. McCarver citing that Baez is a better shortstop than Castro due to Castro's prior error totals. Lol. If that's the criteria, take a yonder at Javy's error totals.
  16. 4 pitch walk, each pitch looked relatively close to the plate.
  17. 33 innings over 2 seasons, you can't really take much from that. And i'm not going to pretend to know everything on him, but what I read through the twitter leaves is that he is listening to a ton of people and changing his style, but he is attributing his struggles to that and would like to switch back.
  18. I know an arm will probably the centerpiece of a deal, but Garin Cecchini is just ridiculous. Want.
  19. That's got to be the cheapest earned run ever.
  20. wouldn't be laughing at any team given the fact the Cubs haven't won anything in 105 years. strong post content to username ratio
  21. Might just be a plant by the Cubs, but Heyman says we are back to extension talks with Garza: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/jon-heyman/22684616/in-big-switch-cubs-are-now-considering-signing-garza-longterm
