    What was the article? http://www.cleveland.com/tribe/index.ssf/2014/07/this_week_in_baseball_6.html#incart_m-rpt-1 Sounds like the Cubs talked about Shark solo awhile ago, asked if Lindor was available, Indians said no and then hoped for Hammell after that. I feel like the Hammell, Naquin, and Salazar, etc. inclusions are just thrown in to hypothetically ask if the Indians should have matched the A's offer, not that there was every any serious discussion on it. But maybe i'm wrong.

    Meh, I read that article earlier and the author was just saying that's what the Indians would have had to throw out there to match the value or something IIRC, and asking fans if they should do it.

    I feel like Javy gets screwed over by the umps more than anyone I see. Nothing sucks more than knowing he's trying to be patient and the ump rings him up on two bad calls and a borderline pitch, and then he goes hacking at 3 sliders in the dirt the next AB. Just speaking in general, not specifically from today.

    Honestly I don't think you'll get too much crap. The biggest trade we seem to be talking about using them for is for another, more awesome bat.

    [expletive] it, I'll go full meatball here. How'd we do in the playoffs again? Honestly, I get what you're saying, but I've always had it in my head that pitching wins in the playoffs. Cold weather, elite stuff, keeps bats at bay. Time to go to bed. May be. But seriously, can someone give me something that backs up why elite pitching doesn't win in the playoffs? It could and does sometimes. But I feel the cold can affect a pitcher just as negatively as a hitter. And what are we talking about, 2 starts in a series? There's a lot of randomness that can occur in 2 starts.
