    great BB:K rate and a doubles machine in the minors, and league-leading doubles this year surely indicates power isn't going away he's clearly grown into power, which is not terribly uncommon. some guys i can think of are Garrett Anderson, Holliday, Chris Duncan, Beltran, Hunter, Carlos Guillen and I'm sure hundreds of others as well. i like McLouth a lot ... yeah i just plagiarized myself

    that's precisely the point. i'm seeing average SS line as .268/.323/.385 and .314 wOBA so Theriot's monthly splits, wOBA: 0.389 0.348 0.326 0.358 0.322 0.260 september's the only month where he falls below avg threshold for SS and that's just 2/3 the sample size of the rest

    i don't know what purpose is served by bringing up his peripherals when we're arguing over whether he was detrimental in the 2 months with the .384 & .407 OBPs. i'm very well aware of his miserable ISO, but are you arguing that a slugging can be low enough where even getting a .380 OBP in the 2 spot from a min-salary SS is adversely affecting the offense?

    is it really possible to "suck" with a .384 or .407 OBP? some have pretty high standards for offensive production from a league minimum SS

    if they don't have elite RBs then i don't know what team does i think guys like LDT and AD are elite RBs. barber and jones are very good but not elite IMO; they may put up elite numbers because the offensive line is so great. just watch how many times barber goes 3-5 yards before being touched. and watch how many times he's hit and he keeps running unphased best bruiser in the game and terrific HR threat, a top 3 RB tandem without a doubt

    they can afford to lose bad games like that though; that's a bad division and 9 wins seals it better for the losses to be interdivisional

    In Columbia we're obligated to get both the Rams and the Chiefs, I wonder if they'll combine to get 10 wins combined...if you include last year. in the last 7 years, the Lions have gone 31-82 for a .274 win percentage i just don't think that can be topped a rare moment of clarity for Stephen A. Smith:

    2B - Burriss 3B - Sandoval, or a Molina trade putting him at C not the greatest lineup, but with Lince/Sanchez cemented in the rotation and Valdez, Sosa, Alderson, Bumgarner figuring into the mix in the future it's an intriguing team to watch in an ugly division.

    La Russa is obviously trying his best to help Pujols earn the award this year. Aaron Miles and Adam Kennedy both starting in the corner OF spots, Felipe Lopez batting cleanup, Mark Johnson and Cesar Izturis playing at all, and they're still leading due to Pujols 3-run blast.

    i wonder what will have to happen for everyone to stop being surprised at the idiotic crap people on ESPN say back in April, Kruk predicted Ryan Zimmerman would hit 50 HRs and during the season i think it was Destrade who said Halladay had the best chance of any active pitcher of a 20 K game i thought either of those would do it, but apparently not

    well Howard will probably be in the playoffs this year and has 32 more RBI to boot! that should settle it...

    in Indiana? it'll still be better than sports radio here next week after O'Sullivan throws 3 TDs and the realization sinks in that the Lions cut their only decent young-ish QB and are left with Orlovsky and Stanton as the defacto "QBs of the future".
