  1. they are who we thought they were
  2. Suh would definitely be a top option for them, but Bulaga would fit into that LT need as well. The reason I went Bulaga over Suh is that this draft is deep in DTs moreso than OTs. pop quiz: without looking, tell me who their two starting DTs are, or even just one
  3. the Lions have the worst defense in football, they can't pass on Suh in that spot
  4. http://bats.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/08/15/the-mariners-draft-history-and-what-might-have-been/
  5. he got away with a TON of holds too, he had Abraham in a head lock most of the 4th quarter
  6. 156 i can't believe i actually forgot
  7. the Bears are very lucky to miss Antwan Odom, who had been one of the most valuable players in the league so far
  8. In terms of pure talent, who's to say our offense isn't as good? Orton and Benson sure look like pro bowlers outside of Ron Turner's horrific system. To me, the skill positions have talent. Adrian Peterson would've had a difficult time gaining yards today with the blocking, and Randy Moss couldn't have done much more than the receivers. It's easy to blame the offensive line, but what about the coach? oh, come on. Orton didn't have a terrific receiving corps to throw to with the Bears and Benson didn't have a great run blocking OL. the Bears really aren't as talented as you think. truth be told, coaching might be a strong suit to this team. they beat the Steelers, who have a more talented player at damn near every position on the field.
  9. no, that's not even a little bit true They can compete with any team in the NFC in any game. that's sort of besides the point. putting up a fair fight is nice for moral victories or whatever, but the Bears really don't have "elite talent". who's even got a shot at the pro bowl, besides Briggs? they aren't outclassing teams and beating themselves like people are suggesting, the reality is they just have an inconsistent QB and merely a decent supporting cast. he's got to force the issue to compensate for the guys around him.
  10. no, that's not even a little bit true
  11. Franchez is just not very good
  12. ok dew, these guys are a lot worse than i had previously thought- McCoy/Berry/Suh might not be pipe dreams after all though i do still think Johnson will steal a couple games to ruin their chances
  13. and the refs uniforms! this game is the gift that keeps giving
  14. those are maybe the two best uniforms in football history, too
  15. Portis has an ankle injury
  16. Peterson can play some DE so they'll probably do that for a stretch if need be, subbing in Levy
  17. Jaren Allen might be the best player in football right now not named Peyton Manning
  18. so are you if you think Quinn's the answer
  19. Cam Ward
  20. really ginchy way to win a football game, though!
  21. that's what i've wondered about Jason Kendall for about the last 15 years, but really if you're great at hitting fouls pitchers will inevitably miss the zone on a few pitches
  22. hey not too bad buddy
  23. for regular season games, Todd Walker's slide into home and Hawkins throwing the ball off Offerman's helmet into the bleachers immediately come to mind
  24. i think that's still highly unlikely, probably more 6-8 range
