i think Schwartz was in his driveway holding up a boombox, blaring "In Your Eyes" Apparently he was sitting out in front of KVB's gate at 11:01 CT calling for him. The good thing for Detroit is, if anybody knows how much Vanden Bosch has left, it's Schwartz. eh, i don't get excited about that. not to say i'm comparing the two but it's just as likely he has an irrational affection for KVB like Marinelli did for all his washed-up former TB players

Lions sign Burleson 5/25m and trade their 2nd 5th-rounder to the Browns for DT Corey Williams i'm especially pleased about the latter move

the Rangers were outshot 23-1 in the 3rd period & OT tonight (55 to 16 overall) that won't get it done

i'll admit i like his offensive upside (i mostly felt the same about O'Sullivan too and he's been a colossal disappointment) but the Lightning should be a really good situation for him, if he can land on VLC's wing

the Lions take McCoy here for all the obvious reasons

some pretty big trades today Washington loaded up. i like the Avs selling high on Wolski and buying low on Mueller. the Kings seemed to give up on Purcell way too early.

Cubs Top Prospect Lists (NSBB, BA, etc.)

Lee @ 63 is pretty unexpected -
Like he did in Detroit. Martz is a terrible offensive coordinator, and you'll figure that out pretty fast. Martz was fired by Rod Marinelli; that actually speaks well of him, if you ask me nevertheless, he was let go due to philosophical differences. he differed with Marinelli's archaic dumb ass approach to running an offense

well, you consider they have fatso Brett Wallace in their top 30, so there might be other factors too -
Cubs Top Prospect Lists (NSBB, BA, etc.)
sneakypower replied to Outshined_One's topic in Cubs Minor League Talk
looking through the lists, i found it interesting ProjectProspect rated Fernando Martinez 10th, while BA ranked him 77th Decker (18 & 82), Darnell (22 & 90) had a similar chasm in the rankings -
even if Florida decides to move Vokoun, they aren't going to want a #1 goalie - Markstrom is an elite G prospect and the future for them

absolutely, the 3 consecutive breakaways was just about the craziest minute of sports i've ever seen

Re: Which Big Ten team brings the least to the table.
sneakypower replied to Ding Dong Johnson's topic in Chicago Cubs Talk
In terms of endowment they are No. 1 in the country. i mean, i dont like to brag... -
At the same time, we more than likely wouldn't have Toews or Kane. you're still going to be much better off with one of Malkin or Ovechkin and whoever you picked in the top 10 both years. i'm not really bemoaning it or anything, it's just interesting to consider. at any rate, this smells like a salary dump. the main piece was Leddy. Johnsson helps for the playoffs and then he's off the books. that's probably why they didn't target Zidlicky.
-
still hard to believe Barker was picked immediately after Ovechkin and Malkin in the 04 draft oh, those fateful lottery balls
-
apropos of little, i was reading ESPN the Magazine in the waiting room the other day and they cited a scout who called Hak-Ju Lee "the Korean Jose Reyes", an obvious rave of his speed

Oduya, Bergfors, Cormier and 1st better return than the Hossa deal, at least
