  1. over/under on bradley's return?
  2. if we traded Theriot we'd *gasp* have no leadoff hitter
  3. yeah, what a dick move too to insinuate Seabrook was selling the hit
  4. "Wisniewski was answering for the hit by Seabrook on Perry..."
  5. huh? In consecutive games Seabrook and Campbell have gone down as a result of questionable hits - I was suggesting it's more than a coincidence perhaps, teams looking to injury a Hawk player. I know it's not true but, it's really starting to piss me off. no, not even a little bit Wiz probably did intend to injure Seabrook, but that was only as retribution for the earlier Perry hit, and Ovechkin just throws his body around at everyone like that
  6. "i was just about to say that"
  7. the tigers underachieved their pythagorean record by 4, 7 and 3 games over his three seasons and the players didn't seem to display much respect for him so what's the draw here?
  8. I've never heard this before. What were the examples? It wasn't just Detroit writers mad that Trammel wasn't making a Sandberg-like spectacle of himself yelling at players who clearly weren't talented enough to do anything beyond be the worst team in the majors? no, there were quite a few examples a couple that i immediately recall were: Pudge taking a sabbatical in Puerto Rico or Venezuela while injured and not reporting back to the team, Rondell White, Inge and Ugie Urbina getting in a brawl on a plane, and something with Da Meat Hook sexually assaulting a flight attendant i think the inmates were definitely running the asylum
  9. Trammell let the players walk all over him during his tenure in Detroit
  10. yeah, that's what sulley said. i can't understand it.
  11. i don't know how somebody could justify having Vitters higher i'd love to see even one previous instance of a guy having a 200 game stretch in the minors with a 4.6:1 or worse K:BB ratio and becoming successful. the worst players i can think of, like the Francoeurs, Pattersons and Miguel Olivos, never even approached that in the minors. for Vitters to have success would be thoroughly unprecedented
  12. already been picked
  13. Sandberg's a career .285 hitter, of course he'd make a good hitting instructor
  14. Avril and Hunter are serviceable for the end spot opposite Vanden Bosch, but this pick still presents an opportunity for a clear upgrade. Best was also considered (and is the direction i think they'll go in the draft) 2-2) Everson Griffen, DE, USC
  15. keep him down until at least June and get an extra year of cheap Castro
  16. that Thomas Jones signing is stupid they already have one of the best backs in football and Battle & Castille probably would have been fine with short yardage
  17. the one thing that really sticks out to me is Cap Anson being so low
  18. that'll definitely be priority #1 in the summer
  19. it's really ironic, because seemingly everybody's reaction to the hit is Richards/Booth (truffle's moral equivocating is sure to follow, i know)
  20. PFF seems to think his run blocking, once elite, has slipped and that his pass blocking was never very good but last year could just be an anomaly; his previous two seasons were great in run blocking
  21. Lions on the verge of acquiring Chris Houston for a 6th and swap of 5ths man, if they could have gotten Kerry Rhodes for the same deal Arizona got, i'd be positively giddy disposing of all day 3 picks for three decent-to-good defensive starters (of which we had very few last year [two])
  22. pujols upton hanson sandoval haren
  23. [expletive]
  24. i think Schwartz was in his driveway holding up a boombox, blaring "In Your Eyes" Apparently he was sitting out in front of KVB's gate at 11:01 CT calling for him. The good thing for Detroit is, if anybody knows how much Vanden Bosch has left, it's Schwartz. eh, i don't get excited about that. not to say i'm comparing the two but it's just as likely he has an irrational affection for KVB like Marinelli did for all his washed-up former TB players
