Somebody must have gotten a copy of BP at WGN. ;) Nice AB from Walker. Len said earlier in the spring that they'd be doing that all year long. I guess he is big into numbers.

I understand the risks involved with putting a guy with limited experience above AA into a big league rotation. Trust me, I've been following this guy long enough to tell you that while he has a world of potential, he still needs to do some important things such as build up endurance and face more advanced hitters. However, at the moment, the alternatives are not looking all that great. We've seen the results of Spring Training games, yes, but there are also workouts and drills. The coaching staff has been monitoring Guzman, Williams, Hill, and Marshall a great deal. They know their jobs are on the line and aren't going to take any stupid risks. Right now, Marshall has performed better than any of those guys. He wasn't handed the #4 slot blindly. If they think he's the best option, then I think there's something to be said for giving them the benefit of the doubt in a rough situation like this. I totally understand sticking someone in there. Marshall is no Mitre or Koronka. He has value and I don't like seeing him getting eaten up just to fill in for guys on the DL. I'd rather see Williams get eaten up. Struggling at the ML level could really hurt Marshall's confidence.

Nope. I've never sold my soul. If we get within a game again, I'm slapping down money against. I watched the pressure, and all the media B.S. about the curse build & build in 2003, and I just felt it was too tough to cut through. You'll see all those stupid graphics of billie goats walking across the screen, and all the damn post-game interviews "you thinkin' about the curse yet?!? Huh----yet?!?" You remember how it was.... The way I see it, from a psychological standpoint the Cubs have to win the World Series just to *GET* to the World Series. I totally get it, but I couldn't do it myself. It's like killing a puppy or beating a baby. You just don't do it. :lol:
