But its going to be great if the Yanks try to have Farns retaliate in someway against the Red Sox. I really want to see this happen, almost more than wanting to see a Glenallen Hill collision at home. They need a tough guy on that team. Farns is like an enforcer in hockey.

Lowe's performance is pretty dependent on the defense. His BABIP fluctuates quite a bit. Hopefully Aramis is working on his D this offseason.

Dude, this offseason is getting better and better. Pierre looks to be headed to NY. Jones stays away from Wrigley. Sweet! Take the poor options away from hendry and he may be forced into something decent.

I cooled on Castillo after hearing about the injury issues. I can't imagine why Hendry wasn't pursuing him b/c he can catch the ball and provides pretty decent offense if it wasn't b/c of those health issues. I'll give Jimbo a pass on this one. We don't need another lemon.

wow, the dodgers are stupid. hendry should just let them have Furcal and watch the resulting train wreck that will be their infield.

I haven't seen anything mentioned about Hendry being interested in Castillo. I'm worried the Cardinals are going to get him. If anything I hope the Twins step up and get him. I'm worried that we're going to see Soriano roaming 2nd base for the Cubs next year. Talk about just making our problems worse. :x i really don't beleive the Soriano rumors. hendry fell all over himself talking about guys who can catch. soriano isn't one of those...well the talent is there, but it looks like he has ADD sometimes.

We had one of the worst outfield's in baseball last season. You can quote Dusty Baker himself on that one. It isn't going to be difficult to find "upgrades" in the OF. I don't think the right way to approach fixing this problem is to compare available options to what we had last season, rather to compare the options to each other. The fact that Jacque Jones and Pierre would be "upgrades" is more of a testament to our woefull 2005 OF than an endorsement of their value as baseball players.

his K/BB ratio is a little troubling, as is the lack of power, but he's starting to make me believe 1/2 season in Iowa wasn't a fluke.

Stupidty would be ignoring your BP problem there are other ways to address the pen. free agency isn't the only way to acquire arms, if we don't trust our minor leaguers to contribute.

how's that? if hendry would have showed interest it would have changed the market for Giles. i believe certain people were advocating the acquistion of Marcus Giles from Atlanta to pry him away from SD. this wasn't unexpected.

Yeah, we're not getting Abreu for Pie and some other minor leaguers. Front of the rotation starter, hmmm. No way I give up Z or Prior. Wood's NTC complicates trading him, but I doubt Philly would take him even if he waived it (unlikely).

Yeah, I don't get that either. I think it is reasonable to conclude that he is using the Dodgers to drive the price up. Stand firm Jim; call his bluff. If he wants LA and their manager-less team, let him have it. Especially if he wants a guaranteed 5th year and more than $55 mill. Then go out and acquire Pierre and Abreu (please!!!!!!!!!!!!). supposedly abreu is going to cost a front of the line starter. i'm not giving up Z or Prior for abreu and there is no way they take Wood (disregarding the NTC issue).
