I seriously doubt it. His team is bad, he's bad. Didn't GB use their 1st round pick this year on a QB? I could see him hanging it up. I think he's like Jordan...he has this idea in his head of going out on top of his game, but I don't think he can actually do it...the desire to compete overrules all. Maybe, we'll see...

Now THAT is the kind of reaction I expect around here! :D It's all fun till a redneck pokes a frat boy in the eye with his mullet. As long as the insults are evenly spread out I'm cool. ;) why the hell should i, as a cub fan, come to a cub website and be okay with being insulted? I was only joking around, I didn't mean to offend. I *think* a little joshing between fans is OK (and a little fun) as long as it's not personal and excessive.

Then again you are not a professional baseball player. Anything can happen during the contract length. Most guys want stability, they'd take years over dollars 9 times out of 10. And if they can get a no trade, even better. Nobody likes change. Why do you think your beloved Cards and my beloved Cubs won't do long term contracts? Sure it's a gamble but I think there's a very good chance he'll be worth more than 2/10 when he's 30. Again, if I were him I'd take the 3/40. I bet he ends up with 5/60.

That's funny because I thought it was overpaying for Zito. I would rather have Williams and Hill on the Cubs then a guy that is going to be a free agent next year. At a risk of sounding like a troll - Williams and Hill trade values are vastly over rated on this board. I've noticed most most forums (like CardsTalk) tend to over value their own players tho. -
I'll give Boras a long leash, he seems to know what he's doing. After a stupid number like 7/84m he'll make 4\48 sound like a bargain.
