  1. Black strikes out the side in the first.
  2. A run in the first for Tennessee on two hits. Bryant not involved. There's your slump, Hoyer. When he homers later you can promote him.
  3. +1. He has been aggressively promoted despite his control issues but he's only been out of high A for a few months. He makes his first AAA start today. Maybe Theo said he wanted guys closer to the majors.
  4. Victor Sanchez is the youngest pitcher in AA by a year and a half, Ks 8 per and has a 1.29 WHIP. He'd definitely be in any deal for me.
  5. Schwarber 1-2 so far, also has a throwing error. Jeffery Baez 1-3.
  6. Fun Facts: Valbuena is 24th in MLB in wOBA (min 190 PA) and 40th in WAR. Over the last month (87 PA) he: has a 1.070 OPS and a .464 wOBA . is getting on base more than McCutchen has a higher SLG than Stanton
  7. Not sure what to think of Dickerson. I will say that the entire Rockies team has comical home/road splits (even for them) this year. Dickerson is a major exception. He has always been a little old for his level but he's always hit as well. I haven't seen him in person, but I think I would be very happy with Hammel for Dickerson straight up.
  8. N. Dorris vs D. Norris in that game.
  9. We're only 10 games into June and he started it with an 0-13 stretch. Not saying those ABs don't count but saying "in June" is an arbitrary sample. He's been hitting well lately.
  10. That's not correct. His May was better than April and he was on fire (10 for his last 25) until yesterday.
  11. Lake had 156 ABs in Iowa before they brought him up, so there is a precedent.
  12. Their first rounder last year, McKinney, seems like a nice piece.
  13. He's basically prime Bonds on PEDs. His wOBA over the last month is the same as Bonds best month during the GOAT 2002 season.
  14. Agh, if Castro would just stop trying to hit those, he'd be a monster.
  15. Good day for the org. so far. Hope Javy and Alcantara keep it going.
  16. Completely agree, just trying to guess what their logic might be, because he's ready. His K/BB has been much improved over the past few weeks at no cost to his power. Pitchers know he's the most dangerous hitter in the league and he just keeps torching them. Maybe they're just afraid of Manny trying to tell Bryant how to hit.
  17. I know you don't hold back a prospect like Bryant for someone like Villanueva but they may feel like it isn't really stunting his growth to keep him at Tennessee until they make a move and open up some room.
  18. Groundbreaking analysis here at NSBB.
  19. Well, 0-3 with 1 BB and 1 K.
  20. For the past month, Bryant has put up a .592 wOBA. Just to get an idea, in his GOAT 2002 season, Barry Bonds had 1 month with a higher wOBA (.609). edit: Sorry, can't help myself.
  21. More arbitrary endpoints! Bryant's last 15 games: BB% K% wOBA 23.8% 20.6% .683
  22. The centerpiece of a trade being a 23 yr old who isn't missing AA bats does not excite me. Samardzjia is under contract to pitch in Chicago for next year as well. Seems like this is the kind of return expected if they dealt him next summer.
  23. In future news: Kris Bryant HR.
