  1. I feel like the bullpen is already in better shape as we don't have a 60-yr old vet guaranteed the closer's role. I'm sure there will need to be adjustments, but they should come quickly this time. The rotation is deep and has a higher ceiling. I personally think the offense will be slightly better, without the high highs and low lows of 2025.
  2. I was always a ceiling over floor kind of guy with these rankings but this just takes it way too far in my opinion. Moises Ballesteros is clearly going to hit in the majors. At 21, he looked right at home in the middle of a major league lineup. To reach that point at that age is uncommon, even for top prospects. Ethan Conrad will not be playing in the majors at age 21. The DH argument is just another way of saying his floor is 'quality major league hitter'. His ceiling is *that bat* at catcher.
  3. I think I've finally reached the point where these lists hold no weight at all for me anymore. Ethan Conrad had around 500 PAs in college and has yet to face professional pitching. Moises Ballesteros has 2000 professional PAs, has mashed at every level, including his brief stint in the majors, and is only 8 months older than Ethan Conrad. This without factoring in the possibility that he could still become a serviceable catcher.....
  4. I can't believe they're winning this game. What is this team?
  5. Caissie was #1 on my prospect list, and I think he will have a substantial major league career, but I've coveted Cabrera for a long time. He is a #1 in the making. This deal just makes so much sense for both organizations.
  6. The best (and most plausible) outcome is still there. Trade for Cabrera (perhaps mid on the ZIPS list but age, team control, premium stuff and high ceiling make him the right fit). Then add Bregman or Bichette via FA. That would be a pretty exciting offseason in my book.
  7. I just can't believe the Chicago Bears are finally developing a high-powered offense.
  8. It seems pretty clear that when Buzelis gets substantial minutes, the team is better. Ayo should be getting heavy run every night, as well. If it's me, I look to move Vuc and Coby, and ask Pwill if he wants to be team manager or something. Put together some sort of defense and build around Buzelis and Giddey.
  9. I just can't believe they won that game.
  10. I really thought that with the surplus of position player prospects at the door, we'd see a trade for a cost-controlled starter. If they land Imai, I wonder what the plan is? Caissie has 1000 PAs at Iowa, Alcantara is right there, Ballesteros' bat is ready....
  11. It's always been about Cabrera for me. I'd be happy with Gore, Ryan or Lopez but I think Cabrera is on the verge of a big leap and I'd love for the Cubs to get those prime years.
  12. They are going to trade for a frontline starter. Cabrera makes so much sense , but there are a number of guys that could be moved.
  13. Is something actually happening here?
  14. Michael King doesn't do it for me. Another guy throwing 93 to slot at the top of the rotation seems less than ideal.
  15. At least Ben Johnson is good.
  16. I have to be honest, I'm finding it hard to root against Ohtani.
  17. Shohei Ohtani is a pitcher.
  18. Pitchers Pipe dream adds (call and beg) 1. Skenes 2. Skubal Get up and dance 1. Ryan 2. Gore 3. Eury Perez 4. Cabrera Solid Fist Pump 1. Rasmussen Weak Fist Pump 1. Alcantara Would love to deal for one of the 2nd tier and sign another SP in FA.
  19. I'm not incredibly optimistic about the offseason, but I think you have to set your sights higher than Sandy Alcantara (who would undoubtedly be a smart addition for the right cost). They need to trade for either an elite starter (Ryan, Gore) or one on the cusp (Cabrera, Ragans, Perez). They have the pieces to make this addition.
