  1. So what do we all think? How's our group going to shake out?
  2. Silver has us at about 39% or so; I think that the chances are much higher than that. I'd be more surprised if we didn't.
  3. Everyone stop what you're doing for an hour and watch these:
  4. I don't have any issue with it, since I don't particularly rate him.
  5. I think we're ready. The 16th can't get here soon enough
  6. The Centennials and the obsidian jersey from 2009 were the best two in the last decade.
  7. The bomb pop grew on me. I got the #8 as well.
  8. Quite frankly, I want none of our core guys playing more than one half.
  9. Marco Reus hurt his knee in the friendly today against Armenia.
  10. When a dumb guy tries to play Phil Jackson, he ends up contradicting his own message and sounding like he's talking out of his ass. Not only that, but he's finding out that the leadup to a World Cup is the one time where his propensity to say stupid crap after sentence #2 is going to get scrutinized. He's coming off like a jackass in every interview; between the NYT one, the WSJ one and the one in the Guardian, he gives the impression that this country was some backwater soccer-playing nation like Canada before he got here. Which isn't the case.
  11. Good lord I cannot stand reading anything Klinsmann says. He's an idiot.
  12. Pochettino probably doesn't even know who Green is. I'm sure Spurs will do their usual think buying 8 guys in the transfer window, but an 18 year old with 3 professional minutes who falls down a lot won't be one of them.
  13. I rate Fagundez higher than Gil, and I love Gil. Yo. What about this [expletive]? Diego Fagundez vs Julian Green? Honestly, based on what I've seen, I'd take Fagundez. Call me crazy. I'm probably wrong, I just REALLY need to see more of Julian Green not sitting on a bench and not falling to the ground. Fagundez has actually played professional games. I take Fagundez 100% of the time Green is an absolute cipher. He could be anything, but the odds are a lot higher than he doesn't come anywhere near his purported upside. I think he'll end up with a career like Specs had, or Jovan Kirovski. Those two were at United in the youth ranks (Jovan was actually in the same group as Scholes and Beckham and those guys), and both guys ended up having decent, if journeyman-like careers. If he were truly special, Bayern would have been using him, even if just in the DFB Pokal. Pretty sure it's another one of those UK press dangles American name then gets tons of clicks situations. I don't buy it. Some UK hack probably just connected the Green-JK-Spurs dots.
  14. Pro tip to the Hawks defense: Stop letting Drew Doughty take shots in the high slot with impunity.
  15. Hey, look, it's Patrick Sharp
  16. That's a bad call; it was clearly above the bar.
  17. Green and Davis are out of their depth, for very different reasons. I feel bad for Julian; he shouldn't be in the position he's in.
  18. Ho hum, Deuce nice tap in. Davis and Zusi have been bad. Brooks isn't ready for this cycle.
  19. It's in the USMNT's best interest that TUrkey doesn't get a red, though, since it makes the friendly rather pointless from a preparation point of view. Yeah, true, but it's not in their best interest for the ref to allow the Turkish defenders to kick our guys out of the game.
  20. This ref is beyond terrible. Beyond terrible. That sequence with Jozy getting kicked down, Clint getting fouled in the 18, and then Altidore getting kicked again and not a foul called.
  21. Mexico's Montes just broke his leg in multiple spots like 2 minutes after scoring a golazo. Unimas showed some horrific replays. The guy he collided with, Segundo Castillo, broke his leg in the same collision. Also, Ricardo Montelivo broke his leg today, too.
  22. Oh holy shitballs. Crawford.
  23. Now they have to close it out competently.
