  1. Haisley is the Dave Kaplan of soccer writers.
  2. I was reading Liviu Bird's tactics column yesterday since I haven't kept close tabs on the recent friendlies. I got to the lineups and got really, really sad. http://cdn-jpg.si.com/sites/default/files/2015/10/04/last-lineups.jpg Zardes, sure. Yedlin at RM, well that's outside the box a bit but okay. Then everything south of Jones is not good. -Bradley should never ever be the most-advanced midfielder. Not sure how many times we have to see JK try that before he stops trying to make him into a playmaker. -Playing Zardes AND Yedlin in the midfield will guarantee that we get overrun in the midfield and will struggle with possession and starting attacks. Yedlin isn't a midfielder no matter how many time JK watches the last 30 minutes of the Portugal game. -I'm glad JK has half-realized he's an idiot and recalled Besler, but leaving Gonzalez at home in favor of Alvarado is fireable. -Once you get past Dempsey, Bradley, Altidore and FJ, the rest of our roster is a collection of mismatched parts and misfit toys. If we win, it'll be a 2012-ish performance where Dempsey finally scores against Mexico, against the run of play and we somehow hold on. But we're not going to win this game. I guarantee we won't, because Mexico is not only better than we are right now, but it's a de-facto home game for them in front of 100,000 partisan fans and our coach isn't a very good coach and didn't bring anyone in to camp with the ability to be a difference maker off the bench. He's going to try and ugly this game up and we're going to lose 3-1 or something.
  3. The roster for Saturday's game is craptacular. If Ventura Alvarado starts in a must-win game like this I'm going to have an aneurysm.
  4. Uh, yeah, pretty sure Patrick Kane himself didn't steal the damn evidence envelope. What the hell are you even talking about. Involved doesn't mean doing it himself. Maybe paying or talking to a cop. Wasn't he paying one to be his bodyguard already? To what end? Render evidence that helps him in court inadmissible?
  5. The photo her attorney released of the bag has her name on it, so I'm sure that he wouldn't have done that without her knowing.
  6. External pressure how? To get another law enforcement agency, FBI / State Police to look at how this case is being handled/mishandled by the local police dept. If that was slow to happen, this is a way to put public pressure on them. I guess I can see it, although I would think there would be better ways to exercise pressure on other agencies to get involved other than throwing a press conference about it.
  7. So Kane can have a press conference about this, but the victim can't? How does it benefit the victim's case to throw a press conference to complain in public (before handling in private) about some idiot criminal cop allegedly invalidating what would have probably been one of the core pillars of Kane's defense? She can throw a press conference every day for all I care, but I don't understand why her lawyer is taking this particular approach. External pressure, would be one thought. External pressure how?
  8. Why not go to the state police, or the FBI first, or say nothing in public, or say that the reports in the Niagra tabloid are false, or any number of things as opposed to an "I'm not saying, I'm just saying" press conference.
  9. I would think the most likely scenario is that one lone wolf officer/official tried to help his buddy out. An attorney falsifying evidence evidence like that seems very unlikely to me. The whole thing seems dumb and weird. A DNA test doesn't prove or disprove consent, so who cares? She could have banged half of Buffalo and still been raped. Wouldn't the better attorney-of-the-victim move be to say nothing in public? It smack of optics/damage control or something. I dunno. It's far more likely than not Kane is guilty, but I don't see the endgame of parading a ripped bag out and calling a press conference about it. Wouldn't you have contacted the FBI first, or something? Shouldn't the prosecutor be involved at some point here? Who cares if evidence is being tampered with in a rape case? Way to miss my point. So it's been tampered with, which means chain of evidence is in doubt, meaning it's inadmissible. The test itself doesn't prove or disprove consent, but if anything, Kane's defense team could have used the test as part of their defense. So now, it's not admissible and can't be used. So some cop friend of Patrick Kane tampered with the evidence in order to trash the victim's reputation but actually just weakened Kane's defense? What sort of sense does that make? Hence, if I'm her attorney I handle whatever allegations behind the scene, not call a press conference and make half-assed accusations of impropriety.

  11. Isn't it vastly more likely that the attorney is full of [expletive] than it is that Patrick Kane and cabal of police friends conspired with a medical examiner's office to tamper with a DNA test kit?
  12. Lol. Screw it. I hope AZ hangs 50 on us
  13. What? Hamstring?
  14. So is Jay out then or what?
  15. Lol. Nice play there. Can we just bring Rex back if Jay is hurt? He cannot be any worse than Claussen
  16. Too bad we don't have a QB
  17. Geez maybe the meatballs should boo that horsecrap
  18. Great. And he's hurt
  19. 14 points largely on 2 PA calls.
