I don't know that I would so readily, since I'd want an assurance that Baker would bat him 1st and not 6th. Williams, IMO, could be used in a much bigger deal. He's worth more than Wilkerson.

There's not really anyone in the East on paper that can compete with the Mets. -
Maybe Hendry is driving up the price to get St. Louis to spend more, which would then prevent the Cards from getting Hendry's prized possession: Jacque Jones. That's gonna replace the whale in my nightmares.

i guess the big question then is how much do they want to get rid of abreu and what do they want in return. would hendry give up hill & a couple other pitching prospects like pinto & nolasco to get aberu? would it take more than that for the phillies to give him up? They have said they want a front line starter, which probably means we'd have to get a third team involved like Arizona with Vasquez or Oakland with Zito.

I'd rather not do it against Pittsburgh's D, but the Bears have to go back to Grossman. I've been supportive of Kyle, but this game kills that.

Orton and the offense better pull their collective heads out, because the defense is not going to win them this game. They've been on the field too long, and they haven't been on anyway.

I don't know, it's pretty risky with Orton not playing well. I'd rather just take the easy 3 and go into halftime with a lead. It's not all Orton, though. his recievers haven't helped him. Take one safe fade pattern, if it doesn't work, kick the 3. Ok, how many drops do the receivers have? 2 sure drops, and Jones ran a bad pattern on a checkdown. He has had guys in his face most of the afternoon.

I agree with taking a shot, but Lovie=Dusty? That may be a bit harsh... I think Lovie is just as overly conservative.
