  1. Not sure where you are going with this? And I think you mean irony...I see none. I do know Crane Kenney and I do know Andy MacPhail. It's ironic that your busted him out for being immature when it's clear your personal bias affects your evaluation of these people as professionals. No personal bias. It's fact based and on first hand experience. No, it's your own take on them, based on personal experience, which is clearly biased since you yourself have expressed time and time again a distaste for the way certain of the front office types were handled when MacPhail left. And you know what? That's fine, but at least qualify your absolute statements as such. Let's see here....when MacPhail left, McDonough took over. I did not like how HE treated many front office types and quite frankly, neither did they. So to use a baseball phrase, you are way off base here. Okay....like I said. You have a personal axe to grind, which is your right, but don't pretend like it doesn't cloud your evaluation of them as professionals outside of how you feel they handle their employees.

I know it's obvious he isn't one of my favorites but quite frankly if he understood the game and the business then more power to him. But the fact is he doesn't and he is a poor caretaker for the team. He has been there long enough and "in charge" long enough that he should understand something...he just doesn't. Heck there are players I don't like but if they can play the game and they help my team win. I am not adverse to those players being on the team and would be upset if they were gone especially if it hurt the team. What about the Crane Kenney era suggests he doesn't know how to run the team or the business?
  3. You don't know what any of them are going to vote. None of us do but I strongly suspect that Cuban will not get a 75% yes vote from the good old boys club. Based on what? The fact that the owner's won't accept someone who would be incredible for league revenue and who's bid would likely boost the value of their own franchises?

  5. Real mature. Do you know either of these guys? I do. One seems to have two WS rings that he won as the GM of the Minnesota Twins. Oh god the ironing of the post is delicious. 6. With Zell, maybe but not with MLB. It requires approval by 75% of the ownership as you probably already know. Look at what happened in Boston with the sale of the Red Sox. The Red Sox weren't being sold by a public company. One which needs the liquid capital. And the more I think about it the more I doubt that MLB could drum up a 75% "No" vote if Cuban were the highest bidder. It's counter to the owner's best interests.

  8. He has no baseball acumen and he doesn't understand the business. This is a position of vanity for Kenney and he doesn't seem to realize he has been kicked to the curb by Zell either since there is a new General Counsel for Tribune Company. Based on what?
  9. We're taking Eckstein to give them salary relief, right?
  10. Other than your own personal bias towards them as individuals, why is it that Kenny and Lufrano "need" to be replaced?
  11. Yeah they lost out on Arshavin by all reports, and I think they are very similar players so he isn't a bad consolation prize. I don't think he can really replace Berbatov though. Wenger did come out and say today that he wants another midfielder who can score. I'd love him to go to Arsenal or Tottenham. I think the best part of all of this wouldn't be Landy raising his focus/game, but maybe Bob Bradley getting a better idea on how to use him by watching what Juande Ramos would do with him. I've given up hope on Bradley ever moving beyond the ODP mindset. He's not going to suddenly figure out international tactics because Ramos knows how. If it results in a more assertive Donovan, that;'s the best we can hope for.
  12. I could see him at Spurs "replacing" Berbatov.
  13. Nevermind. I figured it out. I'm in section 117. Good times.
  14. what's the offer code? i want ticket
  15. This year is more like 2001 and 2004. These are three good teams.
  16. There's no freaking way Chelsea is paying $156m for anyone. That story has to be complete crap.
  17. I love Ned Yost and his thought processes so much.
  18. There are no words. Such gracefulness.
  19. Or....and this may be totally crazy and off the wall... He just might be adjusting to a new league. Now, don't everyone go icing their knees just yet.
  20. Dunno. Looking at google maps, it's 2 miles east of where 55 and 294 meet, and is north of Burbank, if that helps. Isn't it the brand new futbol field for the Fire? When he first mentioned the concert I was thinking that new place they put up when Daley razed Meigs Field. A car may be necessary for going out there, although I'd still probably take cabs for DUI prevention purposes. They should have put the Stadium somewhere other than Bridgeview.
  21. Guzan, Parkhurst and McBride are the overages. Guzan and Parkhurst are both 24 iirc. I knew that. I'm getting dumber.
  22. I really can't wait until Hill comes back and performs well so that people can praise the way the organization handled his issues (that they created).
  23. Ron Santo is a terrible color commentator. Just awful. I love the game. Would you like to hear me holler, yelp and ramble incoherently for 3 hours?
