  1. I'm usually not one for craziness, but there have been some very dubious, critical calls in this game.
  2. HOLY CRAP WHY ARE THESE IDIOTS BOOING
  3. I wish the NFL would make us play in front of an empty stadium at home. Our fans suck.
  4. Yeah, Chicago fans are idiots. Worst fanbase in sports.
  5. Yeah, boo him, meatballs.
  6. Depends on how "far" you're moving them off-position. Personally I don't think someone like Kemp moving from CF to a corner OF spot would be a dealbreaker. Soriano isn't that good of an example since you're talking about a dicey defender bounced from being a middle infielder to being an outfielder. Moving from CF to RF isn't as drastic for someone who has been an OF his entire MLB career. Now, I'm not declaring that Kemp will do this or that he would be fine doing so, but on the scale of moving guys from their traditional position it seems relatively minor (plus I think he's actually better suited defensively for a corner OF spot anyway). That doesn't answer the question though. There aren't too many established guys who get asked to move that I can think of. There's always talk of a move a'comin, but I can't remember too many guys actually making the move. Alex Rodriguez/Derek Jeter?
  7. What the crap is this crap?
  8. I guess the question I have is, why is everyone assuming the Ricketts family won't bump payroll if given the opportunity to sign Pujols, Fielder or Wilson?
  9. imb must have just had a stroke
  10. Please tell me someone called him out on this
  11. Man, that free market thing sucks when it isn't you getting to rape people over health insurance, huh?
  12. After ffwd'ing through 90 minutes of stupid ass nascar, I watched the game on ESPN3. The only worthwhile thing out of 3 games under Klinsmann is that Brek Shea has gotten to play a lot. Every other "new" player we're tried sucks. Mo Edu blows. He's garbage. Completely useless. Can't pass, can't shoot, can sorta defend, can get goals called back inexplicably, but I'd rather see Kyle effing Beckermann 100% of the time over him. He's [expletive] pants. Jozy was either shite, or Juergen's instructions for him to sit next to the last defender the entire game were shite. Either one is bad news, since other than Clint we have no one at all who can lead the line. Robbie Rogers is no better than I would be given 6 weeks to get in shape. I mean that 100% from the bottom of my heart. I was better than him. I still probably am. He's a mediocre MLS talent with a baby face and he once spend like 5 weeks at PSV. Big deal. He's [expletive] clueless. He telegraphs every move, has okay straight line speed and his speed of thought is equivalent to a 486 PC trying to run Diablo II. It's effing terrible and the fact that he occupied a wing for a half is a damned joke. Torres tried so, so hard, but isn't a #10 at this level. Boca is so old and slow now, I shudder to think what will happen if he starts in 2014, if we make it there. What the hell happens when 'Dolo can't play anymore? Timmy Chandler wasn't very good, and I know he's young and talented, but Dolo is so good, and he's older than I am. He won't play forever. We gave up how many breaks to the Belgish today? Christ. We suck right now. We can't win without Landon and Clint both playing, and they won't play forever. Juergen's tactics sucksucksuck. He's not impressed at all so far. We're going to get slapped in the face HARD during qualifying and it isn't going to be pretty.
  13. Torres is fine as a situational player but he shouldn't be thought of as a core guy. I don't rate Edu at all. I actually like Beckerman more as a player than Edu, but I don't think either one is international caliber and Kyle's finna get exposed in Belgishland Tuesday. Larentowitz is shite. Rogers is crap crap crap. Orozco is mediocre in a league full of mediocre defenders. Castillo is no better than Bornstein. Results don't matter now but they sure as hell start to matter next summer, and for all the sunshine and rainbows and blowjobs that Klinsmann has been spouting, I do expect us to get results at home and begin to look the part again as the 1a team in our federation. I am 100% for experimenting and looking at players but it needs to be the right players. Not these scrubs. If Bob Bradley lost 1-0 to a weakass Costa Rica with pretty much a B+ side he'd be crucified. If we looked that toothless, people would be out for blood.
  14. Wow. I'll say this much-I'm still very skeptical of Klinsmann and his methods. Castillo and Orozco aren't international caliber. Rogers is barely MLS caliber. We had a perfectly fine attack under Bob Bradley. Goals were never a problem, and now I hear people talking about "becoming an attacking side, possession oriented, derp derp blah". Attack isn't our problem. Defensive organization and tactics are our problem. We're not seeing these addressed. I saw basically Arena ball with an admittedly nice stretch of possession in the first half, but we were utterly bereft of ideas in the final third. Now, some of this is personnel related-Dempsey and Bradley weren't there, nor was 'Dolo or Jones. However, that Costa Rica team was ass, and we shouldn't ever lose to a team like that at home. Bob Bradley started out like 14-5-2 in his first year+ in charge. We outscored non Copa America opponents like 26-3. And that was when our attack SUCKED. I'm concerned about this. There is time being wasted on fringe players right now. We have yet to look at the best CB prospects in our player pool. Donovan looks like a shadow of himself internationally, and I'm becoming increasingly convinced that not only was Bradley 100% correct to use him off the bench in the Gold Cup, but it's going to be a major concern by the time the Hex rolls around. Clint is going to still be a core player in 2014, but I'm not positive that Donovan will be. Not only that, but Donovan is useless in the center of the pitch as the trequarista. He was bad back in 2004-6 in that role, and he's clearly not comfortable handling the ball in traffic. On the wing, he can use pace and take advantage of space not available in the center channel. It plays to his strengths. The center doesn't. Holden, Adu, Dempsey, Mix...those are guys in no particular order that you want in that trequarista type role. Not Landon. I'm concerned. I'm concerned that we've looked like crap for a whole year, and that we don't seem to be making forward progress anywhere. I'm concerned that Klinsmann's statements about younger players mean that we won't see Gyau, Gatt, Mix, Lletget, and Renken anytime soon, and we need a serious infusion of young attackers. Look at Shea. That's who we need to give time to. Not effing Rogers and Castillo and Orozco.
  15. OHPLEASELETTHISHAPPEN I would be buying that jersey within 5 minutes of the medical going through.
  16. The thing with Arsenal is more about their backline sucking and Wilshire being out than it is Cesc or Nasri. Cesc was hurt/bad for most of last season. Nasri was great early and tailed off at the end. If they had any quality depth in the back or in midfield, they wouldn't be getting a train run on them today by United. If they had anyone with some fight in them in the midfield, they'd also be better off.
  17. Manchester City are going to steamroll the league. Their attack is unreal.
  18. explain Looks like everyone did it for me. But seriously, talk to a cop. Distasteful as some may find it, there are apparently certain high-stress situations where a well-dropped N bomb will get the other guy to take notice and take you a little more seriously. Just being honest. Way to throw the cops under the bus. Ok, so maybe it was too general. Ask a CPD officer who's spent a few years on the west side. Yeah, I'm sure a white cop dropping an N bomb on the west side is the safest, surest way to diffuse tensions. This might be the stupidest effing thing said on this site in a while, and that's saying something.
  19. What the hell is this crap?
  20. All our attacking players should spend a season or two in the Erdevisie
  21. The fans and media turned on him after the Miami game.
  22. Fabian Johnson is a badass left back prospect that we're trying to swipe from Germany. I rate him. This roster...if it doesn't end up with some player being swapped out between the two games (Mix, Gonzalez, Rolfe in particular)...is mediocre. Jeff Larentowicz and Kyle Beckerman are not international caliber players. I know it's early but I'm concerned that Klinsi doesn't have a very firm grasp on our player pool.
  23. That and women's basketball. You see there's little thing called Title IX. Prime Minister Pelosi should be able to explain further. Exalt
  24. -Corona isn't anyone worth losing sleep over. -He's not cap-tied by playing with their U-22's
