  1. Wrong! He's a delight. The Real team is strange. It's like a player goes to Madrid and just decides that their mere presence on the field is enough to win. They don't buy in like Inter bought in for Mourinho. They have no reason to feel this way because Barca is superior in every way. I think the whole Real thing is pretty dysfunctional. Deep down, they know Barca owns them, so it doesn't matter if Ronaldo scores 6 against Real Betis or whoever; Barca's going to be 3 goals better than them whenever they play barring something strange. Side note: Houston Dynamo's stadium looks completely awesome. The membrane or whatever on the exterior is cool as hell. Also, Fulham are going to revolt against Martin Jol at some point.
  2. Why does that matter? You're still paying him the same amount and paying it later is better than paying it sooner. That's not the problem with the deal. The problem with the deal is Aramis isn't likely to be productive enough to justify it. He's being paid on past production and a bounce-back season at age 33. Bounce back? Did I misunderstand his 2011?
  3. Out of curiosity, what does that look like if you normalize his 2010 where he was hurt like half the year?
  4. Oh, okay. That makes total sense. If 3 weeks ago this is what Ramirez had wanted, we should have been all over it like Mizzou on hair gel
  5. Horsecrap. Say that this June when Ian effing Stewart is batting .212 and we're in 4th place.
  6. Probably not, in part because our douchebag color commentator was allowed to launch on him constantly and no one from the front office bothered to call him out on it.
  7. Seriously? I would have EASILY signed him on that contract. Come on, Theo. Anger.
  8. Wow. Just wow on so many levels
  9. Nice hands, Santana Moss
  10. Grossman killing it today.
  11. Is that ad real? That's horrible.
  12. Yeah, he basically has to prove that something was tainted... which can happen. Some guys on the Mexican national team got suspended at one point and were able to prove it was tainted beef at a restaurant. But the most common defense is that an over the counter supplement had something in it that wasn't on the label... and that one has never worked for a player. The MLB has an approved supplements list for a reason. That was 7 players from the Mexican National Team that allegedly ate chicken tainted with Clembuterol. They were all suspended from the Gold Cup pending their appeal. The WADA didn't ban them for the longer length of time because the poultry industry in Mexico is notorious for having issues with chicken. That said, in that case, it's highly unlikely that those guys weren't doping. They happened to have their entire country being willing to take a hit on their behalf. That's not going to happen to Braun. Not only are MLB's rules far more strict in terms of appeal, but I doubt there's any realistic scenario where he wouldn't be held accountable for what goes into his body. Basically, unless a hooker shot him up with steroids while he was unconscious, he's going to serve this suspension. Which sucks for baseball, the Brewers, and Braun.
  13. -Clint saw a late PK saved that would have tied; Fulham lose to Swansea -Watching Roy Hudson on GolTV call a Barca/Real game is worse than any other color announcer in any sport, ever. It's ruining the game. EDIT: He shrieks more than Ron Santo ever did during games. Jesus. Also, Real are choking.
  14. Because when you're a major market team, a move's not worth making unless it costs you 25 mil. If this were Jim Hendry letting Ramirez walk and replacing him with Ian Stewart, the rage would be palpable And Trey is right-ish will get real around here when we don't win the bid for Darvish (still not sold on him) and if we pass on Fielder. If it were Jim Hendry, neither deal would have happened. Complaining about the deal being one a major market team doesn't make is stupid. We're worse now than when we ended the season. And we sucked last season.

  16. Glad we're acting like a major market team this winter
  17. The clip of him breaking ankles and hitting the bar 5 minutes before the goal was pretty slick, too.
  18. That's ass
  19. Yes. Hahaha, no one gets out of this game alive. About time we saw a deathmatch
  20. It looked like the scene in The Program where the linebacker who can't read got his knee destroyed and ended his life and made his mom homeless
  21. Good thing he got his contract exten-oh.
  22. Why the heck do coaches do that? At best you give the guy a free practice kick. Does "icing the kicker" ever work?
  23. The real final was RSL/LA. Good god Houston was inept.
  24. Jeebus I have a better arm than Marmalard
