  1. I bet he gets 2 more. One where he goes 3 innings and one where he goes 4...that way he can jump back into our rotation and not have to piggy back with someone and stretch our bullpen thin...However, if Mateo pitches will today (Thurs) then maybe he will leave and Muldowney will come in and pitch with Cuevas like Mateo has been doing...It will just be very good to get our Opening Day starter back!!
  2. He just got an outfield assist - one of two in the inning. Actually, I believe he and Adduci were thrown out that inning, not doing the throwing out (and the Adduci call was controversial). Quakers, Camp has been playing both positions, but he has more AB at CF (can't find game splits but the AB break down to 146 at CF and 115 at 2B). It's tougher for him to play 2B with Ryne Malone and Jonathon Mota around. Joseph and Camp both had OA in the top of the 1st....Adduci then doubled and scoerd in the B1....and Lansford was out at 2nd on that play after singling Adduci home... Camp is in CF because Malone is here...He was our every day 2bman until Malone got here...now Malone, Samson and Mota rotate through 2b and SS. Plus there isnt another player on our roster that could handle CF with Carter gone...
  3. not that I know of. To be honest I didnt even remember the guy from when we played them. I had to go look him up. 18 though, so Boise probably makes more sense...
  4. Well nothing official, but from what I have heard Muldowney is the closest, but that was from another player and a players father...maybe July 1 if not sooner. The other two are a couple of weeks behind that and it appears that a best case scenario would be the MLB All-Star break...but no one officially with the Cubs has told us when to expect them....we really need them...or starters from the draft...
  5. Nope, Daytona to Peoria...
  6. July 31 - June 8 is not less than a month...either...but we will just have to disagree on Josh and then you guys can wait til he makes the majors and bash him like you do Cedeno and Murton and everyone else who comes through the system...
  7. Castillo? Maybe I've been abroad too long, but wasn't he sent back to Mesa? If you mean Carrillo, this is an interesting turn from where you stood at the end of last year when he came up to Peoria briefly and you were not impressed. What's changed about him since then, out of curiosity? Um well we had TWO castillos. I was talking about Wellington the catcher who the Cubs listed as our top prospect position player wise when the season began...
  8. Lansford's been awful with the bat????? He is hitting .287 which is higher than any other player on our roster who was here on Opening Day. He is 2nd on the team in RBI, 1st in doubles, doesnt strikeout much (20 in 180 AB) and is easily the one guy on this team I would want up in a clutch situation. And he is the best defensive 3rd baseman I have seen in the MWL. .694 OPS, 50th in the league. 20/11 K/BB. Average doesn't mean much. I'll stay out of the OPS vs. Avg debate this season. All I'm saying is if you were to watch this team every day you would know that the 2 players who stand out head and shoulder above are Josh and Castillo. Standing out above the crap on that roster doesn't mean much to me, no offense. A .694 ops is bad, and the fact that he is an advanced, 23 year old, college draftee just makes it worse. HE IS NOT 23...cant anyone here add, or subtract???
  9. Yeah, no wonder, because a guy like this is actually one of the better ones. Cubs fans are always disappointed because nobody ever comes up and produces. Guys who become really good major leaguers do a whole lot better than what this guy has done at low A. He may lead the team, but that's because the team stinks. He's tied for about 40th in the league. i guess its a good thing you arent in charge then, cause you would have no doubt booted a 20 year old kid in A ball who hit .267 with 8 HR and 53 RBI in 1994 with 95 K and 42 walks and just 19 doubles in 126 games...then again he is your first baseman now...and sorry we dont have anyone hitting .425 with 26 HR and 67 RBI now...im sure youd find something wrong with said player even if we did...

  11. Lansford's been awful with the bat????? Is that a joke or sarcastic comment? He is hitting .287 which is higher than any other player on our roster who was here on Opening Day. He is 2nd on the team in RBI, 1st in doubles, doesnt strikeout much (20 in 180 AB) and is easily the one guy on this team I would want up in a clutch situation. And he is the best defensive 3rd baseman I have seen in the MWL. He's hitting for a good enough average, but there's no walks or XBH to go with it. A sub .700 OPS isn't going to cut it for a near 23 year old 3B at Low A. Does it cut it for a 22 year old at Low A??? Man no wonder you Cubs fans are always disappointed in everything and everybody. Oh and he leads the team in Doubles. He will be the first player on this team to play in the Majors.

  13. Really???? I don't see why. He should be ready for Boise this season and peoria next. We'll see. He'll be ready for Peoria even if he spends all of this summer at Mesa. I bet if he signs quickly, and Lansford gets a July promotion that Vitters finishs the 2007 season in Peoria....just a thought...
  14. ha ha ha. my bad. You mean there are more forums that just Minor Leagues?
  15. I just received a tip that Gallagher is getting the call to join the boys in Milwaukee. I haven't seen an official release yet, but I'm told he will repalce Guzman on the roster. My congratualtions to Sean and the entire Gallagher familly. I know first hand how hard this kid has worked his butt off and it was a true pleasure getting to know him in 2005 and his family as well. Good for him.
  16. He won't start until at least Monday the 11th. Rosario gave me our rotation today for the Clinton series as being: Thurs - Pina, Fri - Renshaw, Sat- Hernandez, Sun - Carrillo. Carrillo replaces Maestri in the rotation starting Tuesday. Maestri is much more effective as setup/closer.
  17. THey decided to not use Hernandez as a piggy back. He will start Monday, Maestri Tuesday and Cuevas to the pen until Mateo moves on. Alburquerque will go today after Mateo...
  18. i'll be there. I think.
  19. I think it is hilarious and awesome that Sean dominated the DJaxx tonight. I know how unappreciated he was by some (not all) in West Tenn last year. good for him. Iowa cant be that far from him....
  20. No pitchers from Peoria? ugh...i thought this was just position players....most our pitchers either struggle to get outs or are hurt. Renshaw is good and reliable. I liked roquet who is battling age (24). maestri is good as a setup guy. They really like Carrillo but I dont see it. Ceda and Dolis are both hurt, and who knows how long it takes to get then back on track...
  21. But at least he didnt have to pitch in the cold and get his confidence up by coming to the Midwest League.
  22. Muyco could do what Bako and Blanco have done...and countless other no-hit catchers.... for Peoria: Lansford is easily #1, Castillo #2, then Camp. And Fuld should definitely be on your AA list...
  23. C Jake Muyco has the defensive skills to make it....just needs to pick up the hitting some. And I think Valdez could develop into a nice hitter. Pitching wise: Atkins is the top one to make it.
  24. How has Camp's D been at second? I think he'll move up the system quicker at 2B than in CF. adequate. Not as good as Patterson or Chirinos
  25. With Camp we have 4 OF. it will be interesting to see who loses more PT...Adduci, Malone or Mota...I think we will see Norwood and Canzler in the lineup daily one as DH and one at 1B.
