  1. Ride the pine, big guy. We don't need that 1000 OPS on our team. EDIT: I'm joking, of course.
  2. Rusch sucks. Williams has historically performed poorly in ST, and we've seen what he can do with his time in the bigs. He may just be throwing his pitches down the heart of the plate just to build up his stamina, arm strength, etc. Rusch sucks.
  3. The urine smell shouldn't be a problem considering the stadium is surrounded by St Louis.
  4. Statistically speaking that's true. His QB rating is higher than any Bear QB in history (including Sid Luckman). That just shows that QB rating doesn't tell the whole story. It also highlights the pathetic string of QBs the Bears have had in their history.
  5. I was thinking a 3-headed coaching monster of Calbert Cheaney, Alan Henderson and Jim Jackson. The Jim Jackson that went to Ohio State?
  6. They're going to send us Pujols and cash.
  7. It's a who's who of "who?"
  8. I saw him and talked to him last weekend. He said he was completely healthy and looked it while swinging the bat and shagging flyballs. Nic thought he was going to be headed to Iowa to start the season (and was practicing with the AAA guys). By the way, Nic's really funny and just seems like a great guy to hang out with. Nic's been one of my favorite minor leaguers over the past few seasons after watching him play a couple of games. There's just something about him, I guess. It's good to see he's healthy, and I hope that translates to some success on the field.
  9. It'll be a former player, most likely Uwe Blab.
  10. I thought his previous post was the last one?
  11. How so? This is from the 3/20 game thread:
  12. That's the key. We're spending, just not on the right personnel. We have a manager who can't seem to figure out the obvious, and players like Prior are taking liners off the elbow and Nomar's shredding his groin coming out of the box. Replacing all-star caliber players with people like Glendon Rusch and Neifi Perez, who shouldn't even be on the roster to begin with, will cause your team to suffer.
  13. They do not have the highest payroll in the league. In the past 5 seasons, the Cubs have ranked between 4-7 in terms of payroll in the NL.
  14. Isn't this more a sign that we're running out of pitchers?
  15. How true. I think, on paper, the US and DR were the best teams and would probably prove that over a longer period of time.
  16. Opens the door for Altman to head to Iowa City.
  17. That makes me happy.
  18. I don't think there's been any sort of indication that it will be anyone other than Ronny.
  19. Good. Now, get to work on the rest of the city. PLEASE!
  20. Who knows, the Nats might look to acquire another player while letting Soriano go unpaid for the year. If that happens, Soriano will definitely be the loser; he won't accrue time so he won't be a free agent at the end of the year and he won't get paid. LOL, I hope they disqualify him and get someone else to play LF. I would LOVE to see that happen. Selfish puke.
