  1. I wonder how much MLB is suffering by not having the luxury of pulling in Cuba's best over the years, defections aside. Imagine if we had no players from the DR.
  2. Well, at least we've been able to keep them in our system. D'oh! Um, they brought us big name talent in trades? Uh, did anything positive come from them (aside from Alfonseca, that one's obvious)?
  3. Go to your profile and make sure "Always allow BBCode:" is set to "Yes".
  4. If Gooz is 100%, I completely agree.
  5. Wow, 9? Unless his career goes through an unexpected nose dive, you may want to reconsider your rankings.
  6. Ahh, makes me think of Corey...
  7. Kerry Wood, Mark Prior. There are two names that come to mind. ](*,) Oh snap!
  8. They probably want a baseball-only facility, and want to make upgrades to the ballpark at their will, and not have to haggle with the Redskins to do it. Erik.... the Redskins moved out of RFK a few years back. Dang, beat me to it...
  9. If it's a labrum issue with his left shoulder, it will have an extremely small impact on his game. It hurts like a bee-hatch to throw a ball, but it really isn't noticed at all doing other things.
  10. His 300+ "wins" are irrelevant in this discussion. What is relevant is how elite a pitcher can be by racking up only 13 in a season.
  11. Thread title made me wonder a bit...
  12. Was Clemens top 10 last season? A 1.87 ERA and 1.01 WHIP over 211+ innings is what sets the bar for the rest of the top 10. Too bad he had crappy run support and the TEAM held him to a 13-8 record.
  13. Just saw Busch 3 a couple of days ago. Sure looks prettier than the last Busch (and the vast majority of the hole that is St Louis).
  14. Not only that, but we're also getting less than Walker for Patterson.
  15. If wins were as important as you claim, you should know that Carlos's career high is 16, not 14.
  16. There's nothing that is conclusive. Carlos had a better ERA+. Fergie struck out a boatload more and walked less with a lower WHIP. Carlos this, Fergie that.
  17. I've filled out 10 brackets, and I have Kansas and UCLA losing in round 1 or 2 in 9 of them. My NSBB bracket has UCLA losing in the sweek 16.

  19. There's much more to it than ERA+. I'm not saying Carlos isn't elite or that Fergie is superior, but not seeing them as near equals is absurd. I don't understand what point you're trying to make. Are you saying that it's absurd not to call those 3 year stretches for each pitcher equal? My point is comparing ERA+ for Fergie vs Carlos does not conclusively tell me that Carlos was superior in the last 3 years.
  20. I like the background. http://forums.gigantour.com/images/smilies/beerchug.gif

  22. What were you, 12?
  23. Step 1: Change name from Ball State to something respectable-like.
