  1. Yeah, definitely a substantial offensive boost vs. LHP. We needed it a lot sooner though. Much, much sooner. And just because he's played in the OF before doesn't really mean he "can". He's not good defensively.
  2. \:D/ Hey hey, holy mackarel No doubt about it The Cubs bound for last place.
  3. In case you haven't noticed, he's not even hitting .100. He's still at .070.
  4. Maybe Fuld had too many sacrifices? Congrats to the rest!
  5. Maybe that's because he's getting paid to do nothing.
  6. A nickel over minimum wage. US minimum wage or MLB minimum wage? Hmm. I would have settled for the US minimum wage, but now that you bring up the MLB minimum wage... :-k
  7. My question is why didn't we trade Prior straight to the Rangers. Teixeira>>>>>>Tejada. We already have Lee at 1b...where you gonna play Teixeira? Tex could play the OF. Hell, I'd put him at SS just to get the bat in the lineup.
  8. Maybe if Ned wouldn't be such a pee hole in the offseason we'd do business with him.
  9. As evidenced by his 279/311 clip over the past 10 games? That's a marked improvement over his horrible start, and it's still completely unacceptable for a leadoff man.
  10. I was just talking about this with my buddy. No matter who they plug in they instanly become allstars. It's amazing. I'm a Cards fan and couldn't agree more with you guys. It does seem that a lot of players have great years when they play for the Cards. But, this year, as not with years past, it looks like injuries are going to play a part on how they succeed. Carp and Edmonds are now on the DL. One thing that did work for your team is Jacque Jones. Although he hasn't been great, he's been 10-fold better than Yawn Enc. So has my grandfather, and he's been dead for 9 months. Cubs win, 33-2
  11. A nickel over minimum wage.
  12. Because there's no such thing as an Arizona Cardinals fan.
  13. Jones sucks threads = Jones doing good I fear what Jones is good threads will do. Jones sucks!
  14. You often jump on people for generalizing (and rightfully so), so I must ask, to whom are you referring? Not me. My 2005 offseason saw Lofton, Hairston and Patterson as the CF options for 2006. :P I had Lofton with Hairston as the primary backup. Patterson was Nomar's backup in RF. :(
  15. You often jump on people for generalizing (and rightfully so), so I must ask, to whom are you referring? Everyone probably wasn't the right word, but the vast majority of responses regarding Lofton were less than favorable. I'm not one to point fingers, but I don't remember a whole lot of support back then.
  16. Gee, when I suggested it, everyone told me he was washed up and on the brink of a massive decline in production.
  17. Wow, that makes the deal look a whole lot better.
  18. Fast or fat guy? I don't see Perez as fast. You wouldn't say he at least has above average speed? No
  19. Exactly. This is why you don't want this trade. Less playing time for Walker meaning: 1) his trade value goes down 2) if he doesn't get traded, he's more likely to walk in the offseason and we'll get nothing for a second baseman with a .350 obp That's not what I wrote. I figure Walker will be in the lineup either way.
  20. Thanks, it just got really quiet on the Miller front lately. I didn't know if it was a bad news thing or the fact that nobody really cares anymore.
