  1. 10-20 days off, 10-20 starts, 10-20 months of rehab following TJS.
  2. BEST.WEBSITE.EVER.
  3. You had me at forgot. Heck yes you should do that trade.
  4. Walks are bad, Carlos is good. He has the ability to walk a lot of people and still be extremely successful. It's a problem, but he'll be just fine.
  5. Months? Are we talking just this year (in which case, this doesn't make sense, nobody uses pre-season in a comparison between players). Or are you including last season? I may be braindead, but I don't even remember Hill doing anything significant last year. All I can recollect is that he was one of many going up and down last year as players came on/off the DL. Am I missing something here? Did you watch any games past May?
  6. Celtics over Lakers in 9.
  7. He's so cool that the chicks weren't even making fun of him for tripping and rolling to the plate.
  8. His numbers looked a lot like Z's do now. Which just means we have nothing to worry about with Z, right?? Just like Hill, once Z has a little time in the league and gets settled into the rotation, his numbers will come around. Yes, a year from now Z will be OK.
  9. I did not. Seriously, I did not know. See how peaceful life is without ESPN?
  10. I wouldn't cover the Cubs if I was a network.
  11. I've loved Rich Hill since his Jr. High ball days. Sure, but weren't you two dating then?
  12. OK, just got home from taking the kids to practices. I love Rich Hill, and I'm not afraid to say it.
  13. Soriano proved for years he's not good at 2B, but proved as the season progressed last year that he can be quite good in LF. There's little sense in moving him back to the infield and moving DeRosa to the outfield.
  14. Updated ERA+ -- 608
  15. Zambrano's been better, but it's only by a slight margin.
  16. Hamilton's story would be written differently had he shown big league successes first. I guarantee most baseball fans didn't know who Hamilton was, even going into opening day this season. They don't follow the amateur draft, they don't follow the minors. It has nothing to do with black or white, it has everything to do with where they were in their lives.
  17. At the risk of sounding like a child, Hairston's a big stupid head.
  18. who are you agreeing with? personally, i don't give two craps about clutch hitting, and i only care slightly more about defense. What about scrap and grit and heart and fire and intensity? Scrap = .75 crap Grit = .5 crap Fire and intesity = .25 crap each All told, less than two craps. Hmm, I though BP had fire and intensity rated a little higher.
  19. Which came immediately on the heels of an 8 game losing streak. Which I was a proud part of. Stupid Richard Hidalgo.

  21. I'm not pulling for him, thats for sure. What a waste. [thread hijack] I agree. I'm not going to expend energy rooting for someone who has failed without the assistance of others! I don't understand why people who have abused drugs, done time, or--pick the infraction--, deserve our support. He's to blame for his problems and he has to earn some credibility. Lost in the shuffle of this "feel good story" are the guys who succeed without succumbing to pressure or those who don't get a second chance. The guy is lucky to be in this position.[/thread hijack] Yes he his, and I'm sure he knows that. If he stays straight and lives up to his potential, it's still a good story. Battling an addiction is about as difficult as anything anyone can ever do. He should not be forever condemned for making stupid mistakes with drugs at a young age.
  22. manuel needs to get fired asap. My favorite part is his justification. I suppose that's a true statement. Some might argue that 220 IP out of one of your best pitchers is better than 70 IP, but those people aren't stupid, so Manuel isn't persuaded. wow. how does this guy have a job in baseball at all, let alone a manager's job. that is terrifying. He's a good baseball man. Wanna go to his office and say that?
  23. Me too. The plan was to do only rounds 1-3. last week many people expressed interest in going further. But since we're only getting 1 pick a day now, that's going to be impossible. Oh my good God, I too am retiring if it goes any further.
