  1. so let's say MLB confiscates the hat and finds pine tar or something on there - what happens next?
  2. seth is like a pimp only cooler
  3. maybe I'm wrong, but wasn't Lee's hit a line drive?
  4. I did find it a bit funny that Z hit Webb harder than just about anyone else.
  5. It's tough to read that pitch, especially with 2 strikes. Imo you sit on the first pitch fastball. I know it's tough to read, but it's something you need to make an adjustment for. He kept going back to that pitch with the same results -- you need to take that offspeed stuff at the knees until he shows it's actually in the zone.
  6. What pissed me off is that he kept throwing that same pitch in the dirt and they kept swinging at it. Sure it's hard to lay off a ball that appears to be floating in at the knees before it drops, but that's what advanced scouting is for. They didn't make adjustments on that pitch as the game went on, and that was very frustrating. Webb was very fortunate last night in that he was hit hard, but they kept hitting the ball right at the defenders.
  7. I agree the fastball was the right call with the way he struggled with that slider. Had he gotten it down a few more inches, it would have been a much different result. GET UR COMMAND, CHARLIE MARBLES!
  8. still is http://www.joewillwin.com/
  9. Even if he didn't just resign I'd ask if you've been smoking crack... Fluke career year at age 35, dear god no. Not that I'm lobbying for the Cubs to sign him, but how can you say that an .869 OPS is a fluke season for him? That's not even his career best (he put up a .909 OPS in 2003). On top of that, he's not 35...he turns 34 next week. stop letting facts get in your way of a good argument
  10. I hope the Cubs can win the WS just for that poor guy's sake. He's been through a whole lot of crap for doing what any of us would have done. I think they'd make him the grand marshall of a WS parade
  11. I picked other as in I'm not a child or senior citizen who just randomly crashes after 16 hours of being awake.
  12. when did it become "Hawai'i"?
  13. What I expect and what will happen are 2 completely different things, but I voted for Cubs in 4 anyway.
  14. ...wherein we fool non-subscribers into thinking they're going to get fantastic movies and first-run original series every night, but then, once they've subscribed, just play Weeds every single night yeah, whatever happened to Hot Springs Hotel?
  15. Awesome? They were playing Baltimore -- it was expected.
  16. 14? I thought the ESPN story said Boras was asking for 20 per. it'll be interesting to see how this season's numbers will affect that -- he'll ask for 20, but I don't see him getting much more than 16
  17. I played high school football with a kid named Seth Smith. Weird. I have a friend from high school named Seth and another one whose last name is Smith EDIT: almost forgot to answer the question -- I don't care either way
  18. One of the biggest differences for me is that I plan to stay closer to home and more sober for this round. I left for DC after game 1 in 03 and was flying back during game 7 -- there was a whole lot of alcohol consumed between, thus I remember very little from the NLCS.
  19. get a load of these losers: Andy reds44 sweetpeteman baseball7897 texascub jiml60 sandberg23 All worser than Bob Sanders!
  20. I hereby proclaim 2009 to be the year of Angel Guzman -- bookmark this page
  21. Z is obviously calling the DBacks out
  22. I'd rather pony up a bit more for ARod and give the job to Felix
  23. what the hell are they going to do with them? sell them to stupid people? is it a situation like what they do with all of the 2007 NL East Champion New York Mets junk in that they ship it to 3rd world countries and whatnot?
  24. what the hell are they going to do with them?
