  1. I watched Iowa/UConn from the Great Alaska Shootout in November 1995 last night on the Big Ten's greatest games on demand. Wow, that was fun -- I'm going to start downloading more games. Damn, that Iowa team had some talent.
  2. Man card? I think there are other things you're going to have to turn over... The woman in Derwood's sig is more manly than you are. I've really bad problems with indigestion now that I drink more beer, and I've developed an aversion toward nearly all hard liquors thanks to many experiences in high school, so that's about the only thing I can manage to drink some nights. But yes, I realize I look like a ninny. Maybe your Wrestling Hawkeye avatar should have a gymnastics leotard on instead. =D> To clarify, I still drink way too much beer, I just like to have rum night every now and again. My lady friend agrees with you jerkwads.

  4. Bacardi Limon is my new best friend, and yes, I'm aware of the ramifications that has on whether or not I keep my man card.
  5. your nuts (see what I just did there?) What about his nuts? Bobs getting divorced he shouldnt be thinking bout my nuts, I know its been a long time but come on Bob I'm just wondering how many people had no clue what happened until SSR pointed it out.
  6. your nuts (see what I just did there?)
  7. 3 lefties is only a problem when they're not good at baseball
  8. you sure 'bout that? viewtopic.php?f=8&t=46301
  9. Really, how pathetic am I that I remember HoJo's homer?
  10. I remember when the Cubs did this in like I want to say 1995. The players play for an inning, and its usually a bunch of minor leaguers after that. The starting pitcher is usually the long reliever or a AAA pitcher. It sucks to use an off day on this though. The last one that was on was actually broadcast on WGN, maybe this one will. HoJo went yard
  11. But he was refuted by Oscar, Grover, Bert, and Ernie. I tickled the hell out of Elmo, but he wouldn't say one way or the other.
  12. Sir, you are guilty of not watching the games. Soto will win the NL MVP and hit 75 HR's in 2008. No one will steal a base on Geovany Soto unless they know what's good for them. Soto will burn down the house of anyone who even remotely thinks of stealing a base on him. Soto will have a CERA of 1.25. He would make it lower, but he honestly doesn't want "GOD" status in just his rookie season. Is it now time for Geovany Soto jokes a la Chuck Norris? This seems to have some potential, if you ask me. :D um, Chuck Norris is no Bob Sanders
  13. Do the O's still covet Pie if they get Jones from Seattle?
  14. I got rid of my wife, so I'm expecting to see a lot more baseball in person this summer.
  15. you're all obviously not watching the games enough to know that those numbers aren't what they seem
  16. I've played and coached baseball my entire life, I've watch the vast majority of Cubs games over the past 30+ years, and I look at the numbers. Theriot is not as good as you think he is. Somebody here needs to watch more games, and I think it might be you.
  17. Plus Theriot brings a lot more to the table than Cedeno. 10x better plate discipline. Umm, Theriot led the team in 1 pitch outs. Which player faced more pitches per AB? Cedeno. P/PA: Cedeno: 3.68 Theriot: 3.53 This is based on last year's mlb numbers. Cedeno only had 80 at bats. You also gotta look at OBP. Theriot's OBP of .326 is actually really good when you only bat .266. This means he took a lot of walks. Cedeno's OBP was like .230. Theriot's career P/PA is better than Cedeno's. Theriot is a very patient hitter, one of the only few on the Cubs. It's just when he swung at a ball, he didn't miss it often like most of the other Cubs, so his pitches per at bat were less. But like Nevin said, sometimes it is better to swing and miss or foul it off than hit it. I never saw Theriot swing at a pitch that wasnt close to the strike zone. I am shocked to see that his P/PA is lower than most the other guys, because every time i saw him play he was taking the first few pitches down the middle and working the count. an IsoD of 060 isn't "really good"
  18. Really? Like what? Whenever I have a pot luck, Ryan always brings a hot side dish and a dessert. Ronny usually only brings a small bag of cookies.
  19. Not if they're getting Jones, Clement, Tillman and Truinfel for Bedard. exactly - that would be a helluva deal for the O's
