    Fukudome essentially had No. 1 on his Cubs jersey the moment he was signed. Yeah, but it could be one of those things like during the draft. Every first round pick gets #1. Maybe it was just a jersey to show he was their #1 FA target. Help me out here, I got a #5 jersey with no name from the Nomar day(s) that I want to be relevant again. Cedeno wears 5, but nobody here knows that. Or it could be you're out of luck here. Soriano was sporting the number 12 last year...

    This makes me feel optimistic that it will happen. Rosenthal is one of the most respected baseball writers and usually is very reliable with his info. Rosenthal was on the money all last offseason. He's been terrible this year. Gammons is back, nobody's throwing Kenny any bones this year

    I doubt the Angels would have signed Santana to what he wanted. They are pretty hesitant in giving out huge deals like that. Then why the heck did they sign GMJ last yr to a $10 mill per yr deal, and Torii Hunter to a deal of $18 mill per? They could've afforded Santana (in terms of prospects and money) had they not blown their money on two players that are not worth a combine $28 mill per yr. It is the Angels OWN fault that they couldn't land Santana. I'm sure they could have found a way to make it work. My guess is they would have spent a lot of time trying to deal GMJ sooner rather than later.

    Ryan Bowen rules It was funny that of all the guys on the court for both teams, he was about the least likely to play in the NBA, and I think only Ray Allen has him beat.
