  1. But I like it for the Dodgers, Padres, Rockies...
  2. 1) Sosa - 2006 I just threw up in my mouth...
  3. Since everyone else is cheating now... Players still alive and active: 1) Vlad, now 2) Sosa, 2001 3) Manny, 1999-2000 4) Griffey, 1993-94 5) Keith Moreland, 1985 Players who are dead: 1) Babe Ruth, 1920 (1.546 OPS!!!) 2) Ted Williams, 1941 (1.458 OPS!!!) 3) Keep adding prospects until you get #1 or #2.
  4. With a big offensive upgrade somewhere else (Tejada at SS, for example), I could easily live with Fabio out there.
  5. Time for some Hawkeye lovin' (hopefully). Location: Tampa, FL. Last matchup between the teams: January 1, 2004, Outback Bowl Iowa 37 Florida 17
  6. This has the makings of being one of the most impressive displays of athleticism ever seen at an NCAA football game.
  7. I don't think Cards pitchers or all-stars get preferential treatment per se, but with a human in charge of balls and strikes, like it or not, there is an emotional element involved. I think most of us have seen a pitch right down the heart of the plate called a ball after the ump felt like he had been shown up or just didn't like something the pitcher/catcher/manager had to say.
  8. 1) Green (not Bradley) 2) Huff (not Bradley) 3) Floyd (not Bradley) 4) Nixon (not Bradley) 5) Wilkerson (not Bradley) 6) Anyone but Bradley 7) You get the idea... Man, I just do not like Bradley at all. Sorry, none of you will ever convince me otherwise so don't even try...
  9. How scary of a thought is that?
  10. Care to elaborate? His contract is terrible. And?? Even if Lee regresses to career norms next season, his contract will probably look quite similar. Sure, we age 2 years at one position (but likely get much better numbers for a couple of years), but we also get a good young outfielder as well.
  11. I realize this is a big IF, but if Guzman is healthy, I want him starting over Rusch. His stuff is amazing. I have no issues with letting him develop in the bigs. The upside is HUGE. so is the risk to his health. what is the most innings he has pitched in a season in the minors? if he is healthy he has got to build up his endurance in the minors imo or he will just end up getting hurt again. The most IP for him was 94 at Daytona in '02 and 89+ at West Tenn in '03 (15 starts each). That's what rehab, winter ball, and ST are all about for him right now -- the endurance. And like I said, this is all a big if.

  13. And I would argue that the only untouchables are Z and Prior. I certainly wouldn't stand in the way of trading Lee for the likes of Helton or Teixeira if a young stud OF was also involved, and I would help Aramis pack if ARod was coming to take his place. There aren't too many packages that a team could put together pretty enough to lure Z or Prior away from me. When they are on, they are 2 of the nastiest pitchers in all of baseball.
  14. I don't think trading Z for Tejada makes this team marginally better right now at all. I think it's a huge step back. The only way this team is better right now (assuming the trade) is if we sign Clemens, but then we're still back to the problem of being worse in 2007.
  15. UUhhhh.............Manny plays left? He was a rightfielder in Cleveland. He's probably played as many games in his career in right as he has in left. It's actually quite a bit more... In LF: 528 games In RF: 905 games I had no idea there was that big of a difference until I just looked.
  16. I would trade Z for Tejada under 1 condition. We could then trade Corey to the O's for Z. Other than that, there's no way I trade him.
  17. I just called and asked him. His response? "Naw, that dude's just f#*&!@ fat."
  18. About an hour ago, I was talking to a friend of mine who is a die hard Cards fan. He said, and I quote, "Matty Mo's biggest problem is he smokes too much weed". I thought for a moment that you were going to say the same thing. I take it baseball doesn't test for that? Well, in this case, it's the pot calling the kettle black. Not that I'm proud to admit it, but my buddy is almost as reliable as a lab when it comes to identifying users. I'm sure there have been plenty of times he's been wrong, but it really is a sick sixth sense with him. So, I'm guessing baseball doesn't test for it. If they did, according to him, most of the Cardinals team would be suspended right now.

  20. Why do you say that? Teams trade withing the division all the time. Sean Casey, the Captian of the Reds was just traded to Pittsburgh for a left handed pitcher. The Mets are most definately a player for Tejada. The sports talk radio here is polluted with the rumors. Yea, but it's not like Sean Casey is Manny Ramirez or Miguel Tejada. I'd trade Neifi to the Cardinals.
  21. As a couple: Slapman and Throbbin, Dr. Murt-il and Mini P, Murt and P-ernie Individually: I got nothing...
