  1. Beats me. That would probably be the best offensive MI in all of baseball. Sure, Walker is below average defensively, but it's not like he's some 75 year old grandma.
  2. This has to be nothing but drunken speculation on their part. How else can you explain it?
  3. I love saying Hiram Bocachica. Hiram Bocachica. I feel a little better now.
  4. [silver lining] From Rotoworld: The Orioles and Jeff Conine have reportedly come to terms on a one-year deal worth about $1.75 million. Conine chose Baltimore over Atlanta, where he wouldn't have been a regular. The Orioles could make him an everyday player in left field or at first base. [/silver lining]
  5. I like the looks of that 1.933 OPS in the 9 spot.
  6. I'm hoping that jones was signed due to an imminent trade for Tejada or dunn or Manny or any player that would be a significant upgrade over a current Cub position player. Anyone else severly depressed today? I didn't have one drink last night and yet I feel hungover. Nope. I'm ready to go to work and think of ways to help the Cubs win games! :D Wait a minute, you're drunk now, aren't you???
  7. Any chance they inked him to take over SS so they could peddle Miggy to the Cubs?
  8. Is this Jones guy that Hendry just signed any good? It's making me chuckle a bit because Jock sucks, but the way this thread has gone, you'd think he just shot the pope.
  9. After reading the subject, I half expected your post to say nothing more than "will suck". The only way I can convince myself that Hendry is not a complete moran is if he does have a big deal cooking for someone like Tejada. Of course, we are probably stuck with what you have listed.
  10. What if we landed Tejada and did not land a Weaver type pitcher? I think landing a mediocre pitcher like Weaver would negate some of the improvements Tejada would bring.
  11. That depends. Are you injury-plagued? :D Actually, I am still rehabbing a torn labrum. No joke. My doc actually told me the other day I should be ready for ST though.
  12. I'm starting to wonder if the Dodgers would pay me to sit on the bench...
  13. 2-0, 0.56 ERA in 2005. Yep, Zach Duke.
  14. Even though the Red Sox ended the curse, I just decided to root for them again.
  15. Great, we're probably going to see his mom in LF next year.
  16. Not at all. Man, I'll cry with you. Thanks, buddy!
  17. Does it make me less of a man that I want to cry right now?
  18. Next phase of the plan: acquire Preston Wilson or Juan Encarnacion for LF and have Murton spend the year hitting .375 at Iowa.
  19. Terrific, I took a couple hours away from my PC for a nice supper and a little R&R, and I come back to find this?!?!?! Um, go Red Sox?
  20. That is so unlike anything else I've seen Edward K. from Indianapolis, Ind. say, especially in this thread.
  21. I think my cousin is somewhere with Dave Chappelle.
  22. MrWood had him from the beginning
  23. I really think Weaver is undervalued and gets a reasonable deal. What's so special about Weaver? I'm much less than impressed with him, and I find him to have always been greatly overpaid.
