    Great move, I just hope Dusty doesnt let him rot out there. Let the kid pitch, dont let him jsut sit for 7-8 days then bring him in. Good luck David! He'll play right away. Gotta give Howry and Eyre some rest! Good to see Novoa hold his own today. 7-4 so far. A lot better then I thought they'd be at this point the season. I was just hoping and praying for .500! Keep it up guys! I wouldnt be so sure about that. Dusty likes to ride the hot hand in the bullpen. Just look at Weurtz, he sat out there for long stretches already, and then gets brought in and stinks up the joint. Not saying its all Dustys fault for Weurtz performance, but not pitching regularly is not a good thing with bullpen guys. Dusty did the same thing to Welly last year letting him sit for 12 days or so, then bring him in, and go figure he was wild. Weurtz sat because Dusty didn't have a lot of confidence in him. If Wuertz had been effective during ST and in his earlier appearances, he would have seen more action and perhaps been given the benefit of the doubt when he struggled during the season.

    This worries me. Not only because we're going to be short on outfield depth now, but I fear that Aardsma's gonna get the "12th man" treatment, i.e. sit in the bullpen without work, and then every 2 weeks when Dusty gives him an inning, he's going to struggle. I dont see it happening; the rotation is too thin. Everyone in the bullpen will be worked until the starters begin going deeper in games.

    This is Dempster's 7th appearance in 14 days, no? I believe that's correct. He needs to stay sharp. Outside of that first AB, he's been able to make quick work of the ninth so far this season. If he'd only come in during save situations he would have only appeared twice so far...

    Does advancing the runner really matter that much in that situation? Aside from a WP or an infield single(not very likely with Ramirez up), anything that scores Pierre from 3rd would score him from 2nd. It matters. Sac flies are our friend. There was no opportunity for a sacfly there because there was already an out in the inning when DLee groundedout. However, I understand your general point.

    The best fans in baseball don't boo dont you know this. I'm pretty sure I've heard that from a Cards fan before. :lol: LOL, they weren't too happy about that CLee homer in the top of the 11th.
