    I dont think he really has a limit. I'll bet they let him get over 100 pitches. Prior was about 112 last time out.

    I really have very little desire for the Cubs to get Preston Wilson. Additionally, I doubt that the Cubs are going into a rebuilding phase. However, they clearly need to focus on acquiring contact hitters with an impasis on OBP instead of strike outs. That's not to say the Chicago Cubs will wholly adapt Beane's philosophies but they clearly need more guys that can hit in the clutch and take walks.

    Really? I didn't hear about that. I just found this article in today's Denver Post. Apparently, the deal could still go through but the Rockies (understandably) want to get as much as they can without settling with the Nats right away. http://www.denverpost.com/rockies/ci_2848110

    The fans did vote for both however, Lee also received the overwhelming support of the player vote. Unlike Rolen, Aramis Ramirez was voted in by his peers who respect the job he has done this year. Rolen is probably embarrassed to start and no doubt Piazza is as well.

    That's why I think Lee will play the entire game at firstbase. Derrek is used to playing every inning of every game so it wont be an issue. LaRussa won't remove him.

    Perhaps if you'd taken the time to think you wouldn't have posted this message. First of all, Allstar starters must play at least 3 innings. Secondly, outside of Derrek Lee, Pujols is the only other first baseman on the roster. Therefore, if Pujols starts the game at DH he will most likely be lifted during the game to let another reserve player bat (then spend the remainder of his time on the bench). Conversely, if Lee is removed someone who is unfamiliar with firstbase would have to play the position and considering LaRussa's agenda to win the game, it is highly unlikely that he removes Lee's gold glove for a reserve... We are all presuming that Albert will be the starting DH. If that is the case he will probably be lifted. However, LaRussa may not start Pujols at DH at all, he may allow Lee to play the first half of the game and Pujols the remainder while allowing several different reserve OF to bat DH throughout the game. Taking everything into consideration, the most likely senario is that Derrek Lee will play first base the entire game and at some point he will be teamed up with Aramis Ramirez at thirdbase. I hope this sits well with all you Cardinals fans out there!
